I've decided to take ShapeShifter for a spin after reviewing the results of my poll and the fact that I downloaded a sweet new LCARS Adium Message View that just demands I get a new, dark theme to match

Anyway, I'm gathering a collection of themes and noticed one that I haven't seen mentioned yet at the Iza Archives called Plaster 1.0.

It's a pure white theme with light grey accents, very smooth looking.

Just thought I'd mention it since I didn't see it and a search for Plaster didn't turn anything up.

Too bad ShapeShifter isn't working. I just downloaded it and it's telling me the demo period is up. I've already sent a support Email...

Holy crap!!! I just checked his website earlier today, and did not see anything new to my disappointment ... must have appeared very recently. I love the way it looks - will go very well with the iMac

This theme is so nice. I have been reading for a month waiting to see what he was creating. All he would hint was that he was working on something white.
from Izawa website:

2004.05.10 --------

Theme making reopening
...With with the notion that where you say, presently directing to the compilation of new theme, in the variety and examination (during mock-up drawing up) is. As for those which can be released still there is no at all, but it is the feeling may become white type theme as a classification for the present. Because as for appearance of white type it had not made even in Kaleidoscope age, being, we would like to try challenging regardless, it does, if, but you mentioned white theme, there being an excellent work such as Milk and GUiPod, perhaps by some chance you think in those and the drill are similar. When it becomes so, as for compilation of white type theme it is the intention of giving up.
This theme is great. It won't be everyone thang but very cool.

Yeah, he just posted that this morning – now we all finally know what "theme making reopening" means!

BTW, anybody else notice the async thingie? That's soo cool! (It's a little rotary engine.)

Hmm... it's like milk, but worse. Not as usable, not as cool looking... It's his first really light theme, though, so I'll give him some slack. I'd rather see a 10.3-ifiation of BlueMetal...

That's a very very subjective statement. I think it's better than milk - but that's my opinion. The fact is, it a very well done, clean, complete theme, just like Milk. Whether it's your kinda theme or not, is a different question. You can't "give him some slack" just because you are not into this sort of style ...

Boy, the SS preview doesn't do this theme justice... you have to apply it to see how cohesive and cool everything is.

For example, the scrollbar wells have white borders, so that in the Finder it looks like there's a well in a flat surface, instead of the normal "well within a raised surface". And continuing the embedded look, the Finder toolbar icons are embedded in a really innovative way, and if you look at the category headers in Mail (Subject, From, Date Received, etc.), they sort of disappear into the toolbar. And the burn button for iTunes is really nifty. (Although it looks upside down.)

Still, easily the coolest part is the rotary-engine async arrows... it's so smooth.

In the preview I thought they looked funky... but after installing this theme I tend to agree with you

Looking at the Iza theme page, you would think Plaster was the first to ever be worked on. It seems amateur compared to the other themes - the gradients are too extreme and there is a definite lack of contrast. The first time I saw this, I thought of a poor man's milk.

Maybe the next version of Plaster will bring improvements.
