Hi all,

Since recently acquiring a Handspring Visor Prism, I've begun using iSync for the first time. Unfortunately, iSync has confused my Visor for a PalmOne Tungsten. When I first saw this, I figured, "well, it must not have an icon for the Visor in the PalmBladeConduit.bundle in the SyncServices library." But I took a look, and, lo and behold, not only is tungsten.tiff there, but big as life, there's Visor.tiff as well! Now, I don't want to go messing with file names so iSync thinks a Tungsten just looks like a Visor, rather, I want it to understand that my Visor IS a Visor! Any suggestions?

I don't want to go changing file names and "tricking" iSync, I just want to add the appropriate icon and have iSync use that instead. Any suggestions as to how I could pull that off? Even having tried tricking the computer doesn't work! iSync is very stubborn!

Thanks,

CS

P.S. If there's a GUI customization app that will do the above, just point me to it.

In Tiger iSync is completely gone.

it's in tiger, but no longer a standalone application. it's a preference pane now. The new icon on the apple site for the tiger demo is not used. However, ajaime's tiger theme has an orange isync icon like the one on the apple site in it I beleive.

Actually, it looks like its still there. I must have missed it on a quick sweep through the Applications folder.

I know previously the application was completely gone and there was a limited device sync app.

Well, it looks like Tiger fixed the iPod icon in iSync, but the Palm still shows up as a different model. Any suggestions for correcting the matter?

Seriously. I've found tungsten.tiff and visor.tiff in a couple of locations, and renamed visor.tiff as tungsten.tiff, repaired permissions and restarted a couple of times, but the icon for my Visor still shows up as a Tungsten.

Does anyone have any experience altering the icons in iSync? How is it done?

Thanks,

CS
