can someone please tell me how to delete my SS cache. that, or explain why it is that when i try to enter the command "defaults delete com.unsanity.shapeshifter CustomSettings," i get a message saying the the default "CustomSettings" does not exist in the domain "com.unsanity.shapeshifter," and when i try to read all defaults for that domain, it then says that the domain itself does not exist. so confused... please email me if you have any ideas

Just before the problem came up, did you do something out of the regular ? Like an OS Security Update perhaps ? Here are the steps I follow :

• 1. Disk Repair Utility > Repair permissions
  2. ShapeShifter > set theme and icons to Aqua Default (*)
  3. Log out, Log in
  4. Update / Install / eventually restart
  5. Disk Repair Utility > Repair permissions
  6. ShapeShifter > apply theme and icons (*)
  7. Log out, Log in

(*) Open at least one Finder window and the Dock. Do the SS Apply and wait for the Dock and Finder window to rebuild in the background, before you click OK in the SS prefpane.

Try the above steps, but instead of steps 4 and 5 :

• - delete (or move aside to a temporary folder on the Desktop) : your_username/Library/Caches/ShapeShifter
  - delete (or move aside to a temporary folder on the Desktop) : your_username/Library/Preferences/com.unsanity.shapeshifter.plist
  - Log out, Log in
