Can I remove the arrow from an alias I put on the desktop?

Can I remove the little arrow thing arrow from an alias (shortcut)I put on the desktop? If so, how?

Yes.

Easiest way I know how is to use CandyBar. Go to IconFactory.com and get it if you don't have it already.

Next, go here and download the Blank Dock Separators. These are seemingly invisible files, and they are hard to grab with your mouse and move around in the Finder. Just keep trying - you'll get it.. Then drop one of them into the "alias" well in CandyBar.
