I want to use the iTunes visualizer as my desktop image... moving in time with my music in iTunes. Can it be done? Any programing gurus out there who can do this?Smeager, I'm looking at you!

Even if it was just animated, not vibrating to the music. like what you see in the visualizer when no song it playing, that would be OK.

PS: I know I shouldn't double post, but the guys over at MacThemes let the thread die...

well, its a long way around to it...

there is an Apple Script screen saver out there that runs iTunes visuals as your screen saver. (works really well too...it goes in your System Prefs under screen savers and everything!) and there are a couple programs that will then run screen savers on your desktop. don't know if they would work together or not and as was pointed out to me, it would be crazy CPU intensive. not very practical but cool to show off.

OK, I found the apple script here. which requires ScriptSaver to run as a screensaver.

This works good as a screensaver, but its not really running as a screensaver. all it is doing is starting itunes and setting the visualizer to fullscreen. It is not a true screensaver. so when backlight (the screensaver-on-desktop app) runs it all it does is open tunes and start the visualizer at fullscreen... covering everything else.

Kinda cool, but not what I'm looking for. Thanks anyway. your the first person to even come close
