For anyone who hates the new Tiger interface and is interested in changing it back to look like Panther, I have wrote an article here.

It looks like it's awfully dangerous to do what you described. I don't think I will do this to my Tiger installation when that time comes. Good luck to those who do. It's a well written article though. Thanks.

How did you make the icons in the menu bar colour? (the airport icon) and the battery level icon.

It doesn't really work very reliably, it made the colour, but then, the battery icon reverted back to black after a reboot.

I would definitely have to disagree. I think that the whole "glass" look was very cool in the buttons and scrollbars, as well as the close zoom and minimize buttons, but i think the menu bar should be normal.

People love the "glass" look, and if youve seen the latest verson of WMP, you see that Microsoft is ripping it off. People have treid since Apple came out with it to mimic the look, most without success. But people really seem to like it, and therefore, i believe, it should be used in moderation.

As for OSX looking "toyish" and thus unprofessional? I would disagree. I think it looks more "clean." I just dont understand where this notion that anything professional MUST LOOK UGLY came from. I mean, what makes a program professional is the company behind it and its abilities. Apple meets par on both of these. True, many professionals like a darker look as not to distract from their work, but Apple has provided the "Graphite" option (i'll be very po'ed if this is no longer in Tiger, although I use Aqua myself) and the Pro applicatoins (FCP, Shake, etc) are darker inherently.

yeah i was not impressed by the change...
