Leave the guy alone, I'm sure he hasn't forgotten about it (I doubt he'll ever be able to), and I'm sure we'll be the first to hear about it when there's anything to be heard about.

Ryan, why don't you create the theme and release it? Older screenshots should get you started on the way.

Hey hey I thought everyone here had completely given up on him. I know he'll do it someday.

No he won't. Just like many others who preview their themes this one won't see the light of day.

I won't get excited about any theme previews or mockups any more, or for that matter any coming soon software announcements *cough* duality *cough*.

Well, consider he did say all along that he needed some features in Shapeshifter before he could release his theme, and those features aren't scheduled to be in Shapeshifter until the next major release (unless the schedule changed again), I would say that it'll get released shortly after that.

Of course, Bart now has to accommodate Tiger

AFAIK: The scedule didn't change, the stuff needed just aren't going to be there anytime soon. Once SS is able to do what BBX wanted initially I'm sure he'll finish it off and release it. Really, is there any need for all this "omg he's never gonna release it!!!1" he's released other themes and jazz (such as that Alienware stuff) hasn't he?

There hasn't been a screenshot because if he had, someone would have copied it by now, and claimed it there own.

Like people have been doing since the dawn of theming.

It sucks there are people out there happy to ride on the coat-tails of other people's ideas and work. And take credit for it even when they know better.

As I've said on numerous occasions, the Omega thing is my fault. Billy wanted features that weren't yet possible, but were part of my long-range plans. I decided to hack them in early so he could release Omega. Later, I decided it wouldn't be fair to hack in Omega-specific stuff, and I'd have to "do it right" so all theme artists could use the features. But by then, he'd already announced Omega and the hype-wagon had taken off. "Doing it right" is substantially more difficult that my original estimate (like all programmers, I suck hard at time estimates). Hence, my fault.

But at this stage, he's taken so much flack over the whole thing that I wouldn't be at all surprised if he decided not to release it once the features are finally in place. It's a lose-lose situation for him - if he releases it, there's no possible way for it to live up the expectations that have grown up around it.

But anyway, if you're going to blame someone for the Omega thing, I'm the person you should blame.

I just hope there are enough backups of it so it won´t be lost in the time till ShapeShifter gets all the features

Eh, if he releases it and people get pissy, screw them.

There will always be people with sand in their britches.

Well, we're working on getting NickelCobalt out next month (May). Then we'll worry about Calabi.
