So did somebody found a way to use the small beautiful finder buttons from Panther in Tiger? or it's a lost case...just want to make sure if it's final.

Huh? The ones in Tiger are also the default ones in Panther. The buttons you have in Panther seem to be from another theme that had Jaguar buttons in them.

In Tiger, the finder buttons are now made from the segmented metal buttons and not a seperate resource. Hence the size difference. I *suppose* you could make the element graphic smaller while keeping the overall resource size the same with the transparent portion but this is untested so far. The click masks would also need to be altered.

You inspired me to give tranparent finder buttons a try........

<edit> Apparently, Roosta has been the pioneer in transparent finder buttons. I am remiss in not noticing it before. Credits to Roosta</edit>

not bad, dj. doesn't fit the +-x widgets in STOMP, but with the right theme that's sure to be a winner.
