I have a custom cursor but i want the hot spot NOT in the artwork and/or mask
but MM will not allow that (or osx cursor calls) Even though I can move the hot spot
in the pref pane it doesn't take and instead jumps to nearest point inside the artwork.

I then decided to test it on the default OSX arrow like this

Code:
X <---HOT SPOT in MM pref pane placed outside artwork and mask * ** *** **** ***** ****** ******* ******** What you actually get after you apply the change when using the arrow cursor outside of MM X <---HOT SPOT ** *** **** ***** ****** ******* ********
Wow I hope that can be fixed because my custom cursor is a RING and i wanted
the hot spot in the middle but it jumps to the top left inside the ring artwork.

I wonder if I can make an invisible pixel in the middle of the ring so i can move the hot
spot there and it will stick?

Jason any help you can give as I just bought MM 10 minutes ago and this is disappointing

thanks

I don't see this issue. I just tried it with my custom cursor. Worked fine when I tested it and when I applied it and quit the prefpane.

Maybe post your cursor and I'll try it with that one?

well here is a movie i made of it failing on the default arrow.

I even went the extreme and moved the hot spot to the bottom right and it still
defaulted to inside the cursor on a window resize.

watch for yourself

I still don't see the behavior that you are seeing. If I revert to the default arrow and then move the hotspot to the bottom-left corner, apply changes, and click in the desktop, the selection begins below and to the left, just as expected.

Question - if you move the hotspot, hit Test Cursor, and then click around within the Mighty Mouse prefpane, without clicking anywhere else first, has the hotspot moved? Another question - if you apply a custom cursor set, log out, and log in, is the custom cursor applied?

I'm assuming at this point that this problem isn't widespread, that it's limited to just you. So you might want to move to email instead. My name is Jason, and the company is the one you got Mighty Mouse from. You can probably guess the correct email address from there.
