I never read anything about this but my son showed me that if he presses control+option+apple+8 at the same time, the display colors change. Has anybody seen this before?

Sorry but this is mentioned a few thousand times already. Check the System Prefs - Don´t know the english name for it… it´s the blue circle with a white man in it, for more options about it

Heh, so it is. Just never noticed it. Perhaps because I've never used the Universal Access (or whatever it is in English) stuff before.

Yeah, you can also use command-option-8 to turn on a zooming feature, and then use command-option-(plus or minus) to zoom in and out. My students showed me this one, but it can actually be useful if you are doing a presentation...

Yeah I discovered it while looking through keyboard shortcuts in System Preferences. It doesn't have much use, it's just kinda cool.
The zooming feature is much more useful. The screen pans around when you move your mouse so you can see the entire screen.

Zooming is good with a wireless keyboard so I can type in bed and see what I am saying. Remote control lets me move the mouse around ans has the zoom in and out set to special keys.
