I am very new to Mac's (about a week ). I got CandyBar and have been changing my icons and have seen references for iContainer. I logged onto places like IconFactory and they have links to buy it but very little information on what it is and how it works. Can someone please explain what it is and how I use it. From what I gather it helps change all icons at one time and if that is right, where do you get the icons?

Also, CandyBar only helps change System, Application and Volumes. Is there any way to change just the run of the mill folders that are all over the hard drive?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Candybar can change all of your icons including the trash, finder, system preferences etc which can't be changed in any other way. Basically if you get an icontainer you can simply open it (double click) and usually a lot of icontainers change all of your folders, at least it does for me, but I like to manually change some if I want a different look for certain things. A few times I have gotten i containers that did not change everything but then I manually changed the other things...I think the reason it didn't change them all is my fault not candybar's. After you double click your icontainer those icons will load in candybar then you just need to apply changes, its very simple!

If you want to use it with no i container you just simply drag the icons you want to use into the appropriate area in candybar, so if you want to change "finder" take the icon you want to use and drop it where the finder box is in candybar then when your all done with all your icon changing press "apply" on the bottom. It is very easy to use, and a great way to get your desktop to look different. Also you can make your own icontainer i beleive in pixadex but i've never tried that.

Here are some sites with icons, some have icontainers, some don't!
