I know that if I place another icon too close the the Mac HD icon, top right, it will move on startup.
So I don't do this.
However, for no reason I can see, sometimes, in all versions of OS I have used so far, most, not all, of the icons all line up RHS, not necessarily in order.
Very rarely all move.
I wish to stop this, and yes I've done the "Finder Arrange By" routine.
Currently on 10.4.10, and 10.3.9 on my G3, same problem.
This is without me doing anything, apart from opening mail etc.

FOLDERS
Similar thing, happens more often.
Various folders re-arrange contents in icon view, spuriously, some folders, not all.
Usually accompanied by decrease in icon size to 32x32, as if the folder has lost all it's view options saved.
Any ideas ?
