Unfortunately Apple has not seen sense and got rid of this look that was in Tiger Mail and has spread it to Preview as well.
Argh!
Can anyone remember how to change them. I don't mind if they are hard metal icons like in Safari/Finder or the full 32x32 pixel icons used elsewhere (I have a copy of all the old ones from Panther and am willing to draw any missing to suit me)
I had them changed in Tiger-moved over between machines and everything but can't for the life of me work out how to do it now.
I suppose this is tied to finding where the system resources are since this seems to be a system thing in Leopard. Still don't understand why though...I thought they wanted consistency.
