Hello,

In the attached pic, The U.S. flag picture (and Greek/ Hebrew, too) seems to be not as polished as the Hiragana/ Pinyin symbol so I was thinking on changing it with a more polished looks.

Is that a simple task (just finding which folder in which that image is), or is it a much more complicated process?

Hi kanketsu,

AFAIK, rather than replacing the flag, it seems that creating a new custom keyboard layout with your own flag choice is possible.

FYI:

Keyboard layouts can be installed in one of the following locations:
/Library/Keyboard Layouts/

~/Library/Keyboard Layouts/

/Network/Library/Keyboard Layouts/
I found this:

http://www.macosxhints.com/article.p...40526105443791

Have a read through the comments and look for this in particular:

I've built my own keyboard layout you can download an enjoy:

Code Junky Keyboard Layout

It is basically the US keyboard layout with a more interesting flag. To install, unstuff the two files into your /Library/Keyboard Layouts/ folder, log out and in then select Code Junky from your input menu.
The download mentioned above will automatically start downloading to your Mac when you click on the link so as a security precaution it may be a good idea not to have a tick in "Open 'Safe' files after downloading" in Safari ~> Preferences ~> General. (if you are using Safari)

There is another comment in the above link I gave, which talks about creating a custom keyboard layout and has a couple of links for reference.

Good luck with it

Hi Max,

Thanks for the reply. The Code Junky solution looks promising, and I managed to install it & change the US flag. Unfortunately, my keyboard didn't work at all under this new installed keylayout, so I have to go back to the flag

So, no such luck yet. But if I have the time to try "debugging" it, perhaps I can make it work. Anyway, thanks.
