Hiya, I'm new on these forums XD

I have been looking for the OS9 "Drawing Board" for quite some time, and I was wondering if anyone here had a copy that they could send to me (*REMOVED*) or PM....Or post... or whatever. I would prefer a theme that can be simply dragged into the theme folder in the System folder, however I do have Kaleidoscope, so if a proper theme can't be found, A kaleidoscope scheme of Drawing Board would be GREAT! Sorry if I seem pushy, I am just frustrated at the difficulty of getting a decent- looking theme.

I have removed your email address, because otherwise it WILL be harvested by the bots that crawl search engines and you will be spammed to death.

I wish you good luck in finding your theme.

Drawing Board was always hard to find, even in the OS 9 days. It was briefly available, I believe, in a developer's release, but I don't think it ever made it into a public release of 9. It's a nice-looking theme, though.

I used to have it (the Apple version, not the Kaleidoscope theme.) I'll have to drag-out some old CDs to see if I saved it somewhere, though. It will take some time.

Had to look all over the place but I have found the Drawing Board Soundset, thank goodness these old floppies are kinda reliable lol

As for the desktop, I can select it here but I just can't find the file as such, might it come bundled inside the theme file?, I can apply it though…

But if you want really something beyond cool, download the SGI Soundset.

Here is the requested Hi-Tech theme,

Dancing lap as you get the System 7 theme as well :-)

Now, if I was only able to install Mac OS 9 again on my 2003 1,25 GHz MDD Power Mac… for some weird reason I can't install good old Mac OS on it anymore !!!

Unless it was the special educational MDD hold-over, the MDDs were the first Macs not capable of booting OS 9.

Thanks for paying attention while I derailed the thread.

Well, it is Mac OS 9 bootable. I mean, I had that same computer to boot under OS 9 countless times. I just have to wonder why it doesn't seem able to do it anymore. No hardware upgrades so far.

I know there is no Classic support under 10.5 but I have a second internal hard drive where to get Mac OS 9 installed, no dice. I want so badly to run Mac OS 9 on it… cause I have upgraded my B&W G3 GPU and now it can't go further than 256 colors under Mac OS 9, but shines under OS X as it gets Core Image support there, go ripples !!

The hard drive needs OS9 drivers installed. If the 10.5 Disk Utility does not offer that option, then you'd need to use an earlier Disk Utility. And your MDD may have been released after the 9.2.2 update, in which case it may need updated drivers that shipped on your original install CDs.

Pretty sure you'll need a 10.4 Disk Utility.

Woah, talk about de-railed.

Thanks for those themes and soundsets angelmb, the atr great. One problem - SGI soundset isn't recognised, and so i does not show up in the appearances pane, even if put in the soundsets folder (/harddrive/system folder/appearance/soundsets/)

Works for me under 9.2.2. Once you expand the file, does it show the classic old SGI logo from the 80s ??

sort of this

Yes, It does. and I'm running 9.2.2 as well....
If I click-Drag the set into the System folder, Id just moves it, it dosn't sort it, and if I put it directly into soundsets folder i detailed above, It dosnt't do anything either

Weird it doesn't work there… I have upload it as .hqx just in case the file got corrupted, double click it, what happens?

http://b2.s3.p.quickshareit.com/file...ithqxe158a.hqx

BTW, I wasn't even able to install Mac OS 9 as if I boot the Mac up from the Mac OS 9.2.1 install disc, no internal hard disk is mounted. If I am not mistaken both internal drives (80 GB & 160 GB) are set as cable select. I 'wanted' to install OS 9 onto the 160 GB hard disk. Would you say is there anything wrong with that?

If the drives are not seen, they are definitely missing their OS9 drivers partition. The jumper / cable configuration is a concern for the controller hardware, not software installers.

Thanks for your interest. Well, I had erased the drive with Tiger's Disk Utility as suggested, formatted as Mac OS X Extended (Journaled) and did include the option to install OS 9 drivers. Did I miss anything?.

Check install Options, make sure it is formatted Apple Partition Map? And I'd turn journaling off for OS 9.

Have you upgraded the hard drive since the last time you booted the MDD into OS X? I seem to remember some kind of issue with that model that involved OS 9 and Cable Select mode. Try changing your drives over to Master/Slave instead of Cable Select, and see if that works better.

one of these days I will be brave enough to throw these links out.

You'll have to rollover the missing tab art to find out the linkage. Yes I know the page says Schemes but it's themes... the filetypes might be twisted up - too.
Schemes Ba**ed By Apple

There might some interesting stuff here in the "Sounds" section.

**just found** not as complete as the ResExcellence archives but some exist here @ Mac GUI City
