LOL. They are still in shock that conservative media is trumping there ideas. Sounds to me like they are jealous that people like Rush Limbaugh, Fox News, Michael Savage and others are getting more and more listeners/viewers each day while there media outlets like CNN and others are getting pummeled in the Ratings.

Seems like the person who wrote that book, 'What Liberal Media' is living in a cave.

A clearly frustrated Alterman told the audience that liberals "don't lack for sound facts; we really just lack the capacity to get the facts out there."

heh.

Yeah, it's either that or they lack for sound facts.

"On most issues in the 2000 election, the nation was actually to the left of Al Gore," Alterman explained.

"Gore was forced to the center for the purpose of satisfying the New York Times and the Washington Post editorial boards," he added.

"There is no left anymore. The center has become the left, what used to be the right has become the center, and the cavemen are in the White House," Alterman said.

"The genuine left is not allowed into the room," he added.

Alterman took exception to Hilary Clinton's reference to a "vast right wing conspiracy" that she said was out to get her husband.

"I am angry at Hillary for using that word conspiracy. That's the wrong word," he told CNSNews.com.

"It's a right wing media, but it's no conspiracy. It's on 24 hours a day," he added.

I think you're missing part of the point - as the article suggests, the real left considers outlets like The New York Times and The Washington Post (and CNN) to be conservative reinforcers of the status quo, even while the right considers them to be hopelessly liberal.

The real left doesn't consider CNN to be "their" station. They don't see it as liberal - they just see it as less conservative than Fox. And, from their perspective, they're correct, just as conservatives are correct from their perspective. Lerk's Law in action.

I agree that the emergence of the so-called conservative media is quite a phenomenon, and that it's had an impact. Strangely, conservatives seem ambivalent about it - they seem to take pleasure in stories like this one, but then if someone suggests elsewhere that FoxNews has a conservative bias, they'll often protest - they prefer to believe that Fox is "fair and balanced". In this respect - the illusion that their preferred sources are closer to the truth - they behave very much like . . . liberals.

CNN is liberal-biased? Pardon the pun, but that's news to me.

Hmm. If liberals think that CNN is conservative-biased, but conservatives think that CNN is liberal-biased, then maybe CNN is doing something right after all. I may have to start paying more attention to them.
