MacNN Security Council

<announcer>Session in place. Please be seated. The delegate from Iceland has brought up MacNNSC resolution 001</announcer>

Hrrm. Good day ladies and gentlemen. We have discussed about everything there is to discuss and we have gone from anti-semitism to anti-arabism(if that is even a word). So here is our proposal.

Iceland's Peace plan for the Middle East: could be used for the wider world if successful and if the US delegates don't veto it.

1. Iceland proposes that the MacNN SC sets up a permanent peacekeeping and peacemaking force. Every member of the MacNN SC must contribute in some way so that there will be no back seat driving. We will offer whale meat to the troops, and our highly advanced whale spies. This force will be used to enforce peace as well as keeping peace.

2. Every nation in the Israel-neighbors conflict say they want peace. Lets give them the opportunity they want. I say we go back to the original separation plan. Israel gives back all occupied areas and instead all neighbors agree to a non-aggression treaty enforced and monitored by the MacNN SC. That includes the Palestinians. Border patrols will be MacNN SCs responsibility and the new force will be used there. Any aggression by the contracting authorities will result in sanctions against that particular nation as well as MacNN SC force control of that nation until a democratic government has been elected. Terrorism will not be accepted(state sponsored or civilian terrorism) and will result in MacNN intervention and restrictions. If one nation cannot take action against their own civilians MacNN Forces will do so. Not the country that came under attack. This will result in less tension between the contracting authorities.

3. Iraq. The occupying forces will hand over all control of the occupied areas to MacNN SC. All contracts made before, during and after the occupation will be void. MacNN SC will set up a plan for handing power over to the Iraqi people, as well as make sure bidding for contracts goes to the cheapest and most experienced companies that wants in. A delegation will be put in place to agree on the conditions of contracting and to monitor the following bidding. Preferably contracts should go to local companies. If that is not an option contracts will be given to the best company after the local companies.

4. If this resolution is agreed upon and more importantly works, the Icelandic proposal will become the way MacNN SC will work in the future. MacNN SC will use the newly established force to rid the world of oppressive, corrupt and dangerous regimes. This will not stop in the Middle East, it will start in the Middle East. By doing this we can prevent Members of the MacNN of sitting on the sidelines or accuse others of back seat driving. We will also be able to prevent any member of going in alone.

<Iceland's delegate> We now give the council the word and hope this resolution can be agreed upon. We hope that both France and the US do not use their veto and try to discuss the proposal and come with suggestions of changes they like to see.</Iceland's delegate>

ps. I know it is silly but give it a try OK?

Well if we want the MacNN security council to be anything like the real security council:

Only vMarks, Zimphire, and SpiffDaddy are elegable... and only they may choose a few others to participate.

We will have to ensure that they are immune from all including their own decisions.

We will also have to ensure they have unrestricted use of their arsonal, including nuclear and bioloigical weapons. We must also ensure nobody else has anything like that.

Lastly. We must bend over, so that it's less work for them to touch our bums.

use different language next time. -DH

what's a "peacekeeper"?

is that something like a soldier that can kill two different enemies while remaining neutral?

I like that concept.

As opposed to the current scheme which involves placing uninvolved soldiers in between two or more combatants until things look bad - then quickly evacuating the soldiers by helicopter to safer ground.
This is followed, typically, by months of meetings in the UN to discuss how a peacekeeper got killed and if the goal is still worthy of the sacrifice. Then, the UN will ask the US for more money and soldiers. Lastly, the rest of the world will blame the US for allowing conflict to happen outside its borders.

I'd like to propose an ammendment:

5. All delegates shall from this point on receive a 500% pay increase.

6. In the event that any consensus is reached between delagates on a proposal, a delagate from one of the regions deemed "good" by the council shall veto that proposal on the grounds that it undermines their regional security and will only serve to aid the forces of evil.

We can't have a REAL Security Council until we take the worst offenders (of whatever causes offense) and make them prominent members.
He can be fixed -- you can't.
