A very sick sick song IMO - some might find it carry an improtant message, I just find it ... tasteless. This falls on the political side of the forum (since this is America) and all so here it is without further ado:

Sick songs exist in every country. So what's your point?
Nasrudin sat on a river bank when someone shouted to him from the opposite side: "Hey! how do I get across?" "You are across!" Nasrudin shouted back.

I don't feel obliged to have a point. I didn't start this thread.

I don't recall that the forum rules oblige a topic starter to have a point.

The thing that got me to ponder is: for what age group is that song aimed?

5 to 10 year olds is my guess. That is not nice. Brainwashing IMO.

Unless that song is a parody.

Whilst I am not completely sure what age range this is actually aimed at, since the site is called 'showandtell' it probably is for youngsters. I think it would be a pretty stupid thing to show to kids that ar elike 5-10yrs old. I don't believe they should be shown anything like that at such an early age.

On the other hand, the song is quite emotive. If used in sex ed classes at a reasonable age, it might make people stop and think.

On a slight tangent to this topic but still relevant is this article I just came across: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/3134936.stm

At first glance I thought such an idea was ludicrous. I don't like the sound of such programs being taught to young kids. But look at the reasons as to why they think it is necessary.
What do people think. is this fighting the symptom rather than the cause?

Interesting. I don't really know what I think about this. I think the taboo of sex is ridiculous, but I also think that you shouldn't force that young kids to learn about this. I know this worked in Sweden though, but Sweden is a very liberal country when it comes to sex. Perhaps they should start this program a little later than when the kids are 7 years old.

But it is an interesting proposal.

Unless I'm mistaken, this song is a parody. It originated at SomethingAwful.

And despite the name of the Website, it is not at all indicative of the target age group. Take a look at the rest of the site; while it does employ Rockwell-esque images, the target group seems to be some sort of indie-music fandom, though I admit I can't quite figure out what type.
You are in Soviet Russia. It is dark. Grue is likely to be eaten by YOU!
