Israel to expand settlement
First the wall, now this. What will happen? The nations that support Israel will say "shame on you" and then sign the next "aid" package and work for more investments in Israel. Soon yet another suicide bomber will visit innocent Israelis and the result will be world wide condemnation and nations will cut aid, cut assistance and cut on even more diplomatic ties with the PA.
Fair?
This will never stop...........

Why not punish Israel by diverting the funds earmarked for helping Israel assassinate people and commit gross human rights abuses to Iraq? The US will never get sanctions past the various special interest groups. I think it's time countries started individually applying sanctions the way they did against South Africa during apartheid.
I asked for this a while back and got no response. Does anyone have a list of Israeli companies or companies that support Israel. I'd like to do my bit by boycotting those products. Of course I would boycott Palestinian products too if they had an economy!

True, but one-sided. The nations that don't support Israel will also say "shame on you" and while they won't sign aid packages, they won't do anything to stop it either because they're afraid a war might break out over it.
There will be a few exceptions, of course; the nations which back Hezbollah and their ilk will continue to do so. But that'll be about it.

Correct

Hezbollah isn't the best example you could mention.
They mostly attack military targets in the occupied areas. They have been accused of other attacks on civilians but as the article says they have never accepted responsibility for them.

There should be drastic sanctions against Israel. This behavior makes me sick and is obviously completely against the peace process. The fact is if Israel really truly wanted an end to the violence they wouldn't be expanding settlements and building fences deep in Palestinian territory.

I posted this speech by Olof Palme in another thread, but I think it is relevant here as well.
There is no middle ground in Southern Africa between the oppressors and the oppressed
I want to see someone speek up like Palme did, and I hope it will be the world leaders.

Personally, I feel that the Israeli government should not be given any financial aid from the US until the settlements are ended, and existing settlements are disbanded. There simply is no justification for this at all.
At the same time, I have even less sympathy for the Palestinians and their tactics of detonating themselves in public places, aiming to kill as many civilians as possible.

... Maybe, very simply speaking, a key part of the problem is that there's one authoritarian (pseudo-)religious state on the one side (Israel), and another form of religious fanaticism as a reaction (Palestinian kamikazes) on the other...? Thus, the "ordinary" (!) vicious circle of actions and reactions, in the end.
Here, of course, we have another form of anachronism, and its related war issues: which will never end if either part (or their politicians - elected or not! - rather?) continues to consider itself "the best", "the elected", and so on...

Wait, you and I agree on something?

Should have finished reading you post.... It is not the Palestinians that do this but a few criminals. And yes, I highly condemn these actions.
