They're public employees. I think they should be subjected to random drug tests.

And drinking should be prohibited within 12 hours of casting a vote. Hey, if it's good enough for transportation employees, it's good enough for the officials. If I'm drunk and screw up, 150 people may die, but if a politician gets drunk and casts a bad vote, millions of people may suffer.

I agree.

I also think they shouldn't be exempt from discrimination laws (Elected state & local officials, assistants, and immediate advisors. aren't bound to discrimination laws that are in place for businesses).

As if there is a reason why they can't take a test and hire like everyone else.

It's silly, and rediculus.

Elected officials should be representitive of the population, and go beyond the population.

They are choosen to represent. They should abide by the same exact policies as everyone else.

And... test em all. They are there doing work. If they don't like the policy, they shouldn't run.

I'm not for random... since it's never truly random. It always end up picking on a handful of people.

And these tests are easy enough to do that they can all take them with ease.

It's not a big deal to do.
I always use protection when fscking my Mac... Do you?

Start with the president and his advisors.

I'm pretty sure they're on something.

The Clinton administration pioneered mandatory drug testing by requiring the entire staff to pass a drug test.

A written test - which they all passed with flying colors.

Ha ha.

That's not the same as a urine test, spliff.

I'm not really posting here because it's mental masturbation: Drug testing for the president and his administration will never happen.

Too bad, though. They need it.
