Yep. It's amusing how bad of a decision it was of most voters to choose to reelect Davis last year... especially with the power crisis and other issues he put us through.

Now that's funny! ...He put us through. Gray Davis caused all the problems your poor state has! The people didn't contribute any of this, did they, or the other politicians. Thanks for the laugh!

Why is there always money for war, but none for education?

The people who voted in the last election did contribute. Gray Davis and his liberal friends may have caused the problems, but look who voted for them?

Was there someone better to vote for in 2002?

Probably not. It was close between Davis and Simon when it was all said and done. But I don't think any of the candidates on this ballot are any better either. I think most Californians just decided they wanted some change.

Grey Davis' last words before he vacates his office: I'll be back
What a circus. Well, I wish Arnie good luck. He's going to need it I think.

Yep! I woke up, fired up Safari, checked LA Times on the web and promptly put a wide grin on my face
I'm still smiling.
This is exactly how I predicted it (and hoped would happen) and I wish Arnold all the best and good luck. He's gonna need it.
Arnold is tha Governator now. At least he's out of the movies.. (as a fan I couldn't stand what was happening to the quality of his films)

Arnold's okay.
He is a testament to how far hard work and belief in yourself can get you. An Austrian as the governor of an American state -- wonders never cease!
Still, don't forget that one of the main reasons (if not THE main reason) he has that office is because of who he is married to: Maria Shriver, Kennedy incumbent. Maria's a really nice, level-headed woman. Met her a few times when they come down to the area (Matt Lauer of NBC Today is down in our area -- Palm Beach -- all of the time promoting the Palm Beach hospice program because his father was taken care of by the hospice when he was dying) and we were at some fundraising parties that they both attended. Approachable NICE person and they're raising their kids like regular folks -- they make their kids do their own laundry when they turn 12 of all things.
Anyway, it's Hollywood everywhere out there and as they say, "The Show Must Go On!"

The people of California have basically gotten what they deserved, as far as I'm concerned. The next few months will be interesting, in that I wonder who he's going to appoint to run the state for him.

Um, maybe Jesse Ventura?
I hear he no longer wants to be governor of Minnesota -- California would be great for him. On weekends he and Ahnold can shoot films together...
Oh, it's too much...there is endless material for jokes in all of this.

California did the right thing by ousting Davis and electing Arnold.
Arnold is NOT a neo-conservative. He is the closest thing to a capitalist there is.
Californians sent a chilling message to the rest of America yesterday.
They let America know how much disdain they have for big, expensive government. It could be argued that Davis was a scapegoat for the big government he inherited. But he only served to exacerbate the problem.
Californians have had enough! In Schwarzenegger, there is hope that California can right itself again.

He can make Wolfgang Puck the governor's mansion executive chef.
Anyway, yes, America is fed up with career politicians.
About an actor running the United States? Wouldn't that have been Ronald Reagan?
Down here in Florida we have Jeb Bush -- LOSER. His daughter is CONSTANTLY in the news because she was busted faking prescriptions for narcotics and is constantly in and out of rehab. Then, his wife Columba, went to France and came back and was busted trying to sneak into the country with $22,000 worth of undeclared jewelry and items that she was trying to SMUGGLE in through customs undetected.
He has driven the Florida school system and health care system into the dirt.
Aside from all of that, he has been linked to the theft of several million dollars of money from banks in South Florida.
They're real winners, that family and that's a family of supposedly experienced politicians.
If Arnold had run for governor of Florida he'd have won here also. If Jeb Bush wasn't quitting the governor's job for 2004 then I'd say we should have a recall down here also.

with 60%+ californians voting for a republican one can see where the state is leaning now...
