I'm willing to say there might be some reasonable explanation (like some criminal investigation), but there had better be some 'splainin and that right soon!!

Of course, under The Patriot Act, all they have to do is say its part of an ongoing "terror" investigation and they don't even have to have a warrant or answer to anyone.

Independent. Inquiry. Now.

Why do we keep having to ask for those ever few months? What they hell is going on in Washington these days???

Street knows darn well why he's being bugged (numerous allegations of corruption). There is a reason he often calls in the police to sweep his offices for bugs.

An agency like the FBI is not going to stake it's future on bugging Street's office just to give an opponent an edge in a city mayorial election.

It's obviously an ongoing investigation whose cover has been blown.

I don't know why liberal Democrats ask for an independent inquiry every time a Democrat is investigated or involved, especially considering that the majority of employees in the Justice Department serve through multiple administrations.

Don't know if it's in the article linked, but the msnbc piece explained that it's Philadelphia policy since the 70's.

I have developed a simpler version of the neocon three prong agenda:

prong 1: control government
prong 2: control the people
prong 3: control the world

that is what the hell is going on in Washington these days.

When I first heard this story it sure reminded me of that old Will Smith movie Enemy of the State. Sounds like the FBI was doing it intentionally though and may have had cause. (Obviously it passed by a judge -- otherwise the FBI is in deep crap.
