Excerpts from Nicholas Burn's Brief at the NATO meeting in Co.
http://usinfo.state.gov/topical/pol/nato/03100207.htm

'This gives me an opportunity to say that France is our oldest ally. France is a valued ally of the United States. While we had our disagreements here at NATO -- the US and France in February and March -- we are now working together on Afghanistan. France and the United States are together in training the Afghan army. We're working together on the Response Force. We're very much working together in Bosnia and Kosovo. The French-American relationship works at NATO. Not without its disagreements, not without its drama, sometimes, but it works. We're very grateful for the military contributions that France is making to the NRF -- NATO Response Force -- very grateful.'
I hope Rummy was not eating a pretzel when he heard that.

And then a quote from General Jones.

' "France has probably the most expeditionary army in Europe. And writ large, " he stressed. "They're good at peacekeeping. Their Air Force is modern, state of the art. Their Navy is modern, their land Army ... this is a very, very fine army.". I am sure The Brits will like this comment.

I wonder how many times I posted this piece of info on this godforsaken forum, only to have some slobbering retard repeat the "Duh, they say surrender all the time, duh, duh duh" crap. Sadly, it wasn't only those disturbed individuals who were on their anti-French roll (because France didn't bend over far enough at the UN) but also fairly intelligent folk like Simey, who spent ages doing the propaganda trip for no reason whatsoever.

Sigh.
