Over 100,000 Iraqis -dead. Over 200,000 Afganis - dead. and counting...
All dead based on lies fed to an uninformed public, to manipulate them into not seeing the true agenda. All dead in the name of protecting US interests. Not one single thing these hypocrites tells us is based on truth. Not one thing.

I hate helicopters! Stupid design because they are totally unforgiving if glitches occur during take-offs and landings.

some US military helos are capable of safely landing if the rotor engine fails. However, they are unforgiving when RPGs hit them, blowing off wings, ordinance, or taking out the pilots.

Every year in the United States, 400,000 people suffer injuries from mattresses - not just light injuries; ones that require visits to an Emergency Room! There's a dangerous invention for you - the thing you sleep on!

Matresses dont fly when you sleep on them and ergo they are not bound to be shot by an RPG and crash. Never heard of anyone taking a shot at a flying mattress anyway.

This is getting very old, but the helo is actually a very safe invention. The problem is that the only weapons that Black Hawks have are what the soldiers can carry aboard, so they are practically defenseless. We need to put Apache-style missle and gun wings aboard, so the helos can at least defend themselves...anyway, JAGs are gonna have a field day with this...

actually, I worked on an award-winning series called "falling from the sky" which was an investigation into exactly how UNSAFE military aircraft are.
here is a graphic explaining the apache BUCS system, allegedly responsible for many crashes.

Doesn't explain why it's failing though. It seems to be a good idea to have a backup system to control the helicopter.

Nasrudin sat on a river bank when someone shouted to him from the opposite side: "Hey! how do I get across?" "You are across!" Nasrudin shouted back.

oops! sorry, the graphic itself did not go as fully into the problem as the attending story that the failsafe system would arbitrarily kick in when not needed and destabilize the aircraft. Once it kicked in, the shear pin was already snapped, and the pilot could no longer take manual control of the craft.
Good idea, but dangerous implementation.

Obviously that must not kick in too easily, but I wonder why it is a problem to fly the helicopter electronically?
Airbuses are flown fully electronically also, and don't crash that often because of that (after the one in Mulhouse).

Blecch...that's why I'm not in the Army.
Anyway, my aircraft is safe... I hope.
And, can defend itself if I'm attacked.

A true (seriously) Urban Legend:
Vending machines are more deadly than sharks by a factor of almost four.
Because morons have a tendency of tipping the machines over onto themselves, although both numbers are very, very low.
