So Chretien is finally out after 10 years on the throne. 70 years old. And Martin is in. 65 years old.

Oh Canada, how you inspire me with your geriactric feats of new, young blood in your government.

Meet the new boss, same old fart as the old boss.

Life in a theocracy is all good for nobody.
My mullahs, we da last ones left.

How old was Reagan when he was your Commander in Chief?
I could take Sean Connery in a fight... I could definitely take him.

The Ayatollah seems to know little of Canada in general, or of Paul Martin in particular. Mr. Martin in many ways represents a sea change from Mr. Chretien.

Martin, as finance minister from 1993 to 2000, oversaw the elimination of the (previously chronic) federal deficit and a 30% reduction of Canada's federal debt (as a percentage of GDP this shrinkage is even more impressive). He presided over 9 consecutive federal budget surpluses.

Between 1993 and 2002, Paul Martin was the single major architect of Canadian economic policy, and the policies for which he was responsible shaped key outcomes. Mr. Martin can point to a record of strong economic growth and rising employment during his watch: by the key measure of growth of real GDP per person, Canada put in the strongest economic performance of any major industrialized country, including the United States.

It really might help to bone up on your topics prior to weighing in on them.

"Martin made more than 20 changes to the cabinet -- the most ever in a sitting government in Canadian history."

Yeah, nothing's changed from the old government. Whatever.

Martin's the same as Chretien? Are you daft? Seems you need to do a bit of brushing up on your Canadian politics.

I can't bloody stand Martin, and I hope that he doesn't undo what has been set in motion by Chretien's Liberal government.

Youth is no guarantee of success now, is it? Look at you, old ayatollah!

Vision is not limited to the young. On the other hand, age is a wicked price to pay for maturity.

Mr ChrŽtien has been a great Prime Minister. He's left the country in incredibly good shape. Let's hope PM Paul Martin is as adept in managing the country as he was in managing its finances.
