"In downtown Berkeley, about 200 people marched through the streets, waving Mexican flags and signs that read, "No second-class citizenship for undocumented immigrants." "

Give me a break.

Maybe its just me, but I don'tget why any illegal immigrants should be entitled to any rights. You are here ILLEGALLY.

Many Californians have awoken to the reality that illegal immigration is never going to just go away, those immigrants do fulfill an important role in our society, and that it makes sense to give them some rights. That said, I think a lot of Californians also realized that giving out a widely accepted, official form of identification to undocumented immigrants without any background check is a bad idea. Schwarzenegger was the only candidate who really said that, but I hope he'll also prove true to his word and pass a similar bill requiring background checks.
