He's crossing his fingers. He knew it would be impolite not to shake the wenches' hand but nonetheless 'crossed his fingers' to show that it meant nothing.

Poor kitty upset because a site attempts to paint radical islam as it really is: a hate group.
Also your post has nothing to do with the thread so either post on topic or move along.

You'd fit in well there. They are just as ignorant as you.

Radical anything is pretty stupid.
The problem is there are no radicals. Ask them. Go on, try it.

your philisophical tripe and reality distortion doesn't work on me--I don't expect radicals to label themselves as such any more than I expect Saddam to show remorse for murdering millions. But the fact remains that Saddam and Islamic 'radicals' both deserve death or imprisonment, and the 'radicals' are an enourmous threat to the free world.
Your brief jaunt into the lame world of symantics is hereby over.

Yes radical 'Islam'
The misunderstanding arises when people fail to distinguish between the radicals and the true Muslims.
Sites such as' Mike's' which display false passages from the Quran don't aid better understanding either.

Sounds a lot like radical conservatism (facism) or radical liberalism (authoritarian socialism). Maybe the problem is just radicalism in general. And it's funny, radicals in other areas are given their own labels and separated out. Hitler isn't often called a conservative, though that's what he was. Stalin and Mao weren't called liberals, though that's what they were.
So think of it this way: by lumping together muslims and radicals who base their beliefs on perverted teachings from the quran, you're lumping yourself together with Hitler. Although with the crap you spew, maybe that's not too far off.

The military hates libbies because liberals don't let them do their jobs. Instead, they steal funding from military sources and let the defenses of this country dwindle, until something like 9-11 happens.

So how would the armed forces have prevented 9/11 in your world?
(and are you looking forward to running Garageband on your Dell?)

I now Mike. I think it's not him that is misunderstanding here.
I know how he feels about the situation.

Yes the US is lagging behind the rest of the world when it comes to military spending.

I believe he was talking about Clinton's military and intelligence cuts. Ones that shouldn't have been made at the time.

And are you suggesting that the Republican controlled congress cut Military and intelligence spending in the early 90s?

they had to approve it, during the Clinton administration (you were laying it all at Clintons' feet). Are you claiming they did not?

GEEZUS. You are one hell of a fine upright joe. Ain'tcha. Really grooving on promoting togetherness and common ground.
Hm. Last poll here on HAFB: 43% of the base approves. Well. I'd say that's a bit of a shocker. That is less than half approve of their commander's performance in this war. Well.
Man. You'll do anything to promote your rabid agenda, hey Matt?
You give conservatism a bad name.
You are that terrified of Liberals, huh? You must be.
Good. Weeeeere coming for you maaaaaatie.
Remedial indeed.
Hypocrite.

Either that, or it's some kind of attempt at doing the Fig Gesture, which doesn't have any special meaning in most parts of the US but is extremely rude in many other parts of the world.
The use of that particular gesture would be a stroke of genius, since many US photographers and editors wouldn't know it, and therefore wouldn't think to exclude it from publication. And if he were ever to be called on it, he could deny that he knew what it was, and was instead trying to cover up a hangnail on his thumb or something.

Some populations cross fingers for good luck.
