I'm a non-American and I look forward to Bush winning another term. As this article shows, America over the last 3 years has become a very unappealing place for anyone who has any talent or creativity. The talented Americans don't particularly want to stay, and the talented foreigners aren't interested in coming. The beauty (perhaps genius) of Bush is that he lets the rest of the world get to see more of his talented countrymen. The analysis in the article points to the fact that Bushs policies effect the demographics to make the country more likely to vote republican.

Umm, I'm not GW fan but I don't think GW is going to destroy America or drive all creative types out of the country.

Agreed. I'm no fan of Bush, but I think this article's charge is spurious.

I'm a creative in a creative field. I work with creatives. I have no desire to leave this country. Neither do my coworkers. We aren't elitists. We aren't liberals.

It takes one hell of an imagination to picture all the creative people leaving the US...

To be creative, you need to be a Liberal or at least moderately Liberal, otherwise you will keep doing the same old thing over and over and over again, because it's safe. You will forever be limited to the palate given to you (or dictated).

And most artists are elitists. It's the only way to see through mediocrity (A.K.A. CRAP).

but that's not true politically. Artists have a diversity of political opinion.

what you're referring to is using the words "liberal" and "conservative" by their original meanings, rather than their colloquial political accepted usage.

Because it was presented in that context/innuendo?

Unless you happen to have the ability to lean in different directions on different issues... Or even be conservative politically, but liberal in other arenas. But of course, that would destroy the idea that everyone has to fit into nice neat little categories and would make the world confusing and hard to deal with.

Bush rules that territory too.

Right. You may want to rethink that comment, and move to say, France. The French love ex-patriot-Americans, and Comedians.
