Take your mind back to the terrifying days of March, 2003.
As American and coalition forces gathered, what was Saddam Hussein doing? Was he

A) Preparing chemical weapons to launch at 45 minutes' notice
B) Hastily assembling the fruits of his reconstituted nuclear program
C) Doing last-ditch concealment of some of the most lethal weapons ever devised
D) Working on his novel

If you chose (D), you were correct!

In interviews after he was captured, Tariq Aziz, the former deputy prime minister, told Dr. Kay that Mr. Hussein had become increasingly divorced from reality during the last two years of his rule. Mr. Hussein would send Mr. Aziz manuscripts of novels he was writing, even as the American-led coalition was gearing up for war, Dr. Kay said.

Bwah ha ha ha!

Dare I ask if it was a trashy novel? Perhaps a "whodunnit" where nobody could find the smoking gun? A spy novel?

I don't really want to know what psycho man was writing, so I probably shouldn't ask.

Looks like what Simey suggested we do with the dictator up in North Korea would have worked well with Saddam Hussein after maybe 5-10 more years.

I'm starting to wonder if you have a thing for Simey. You seem to bring him up a lot. Are you finally thinking about coming out of the closet? You stated that you wanted to buy him a drink in the other thread.

Regarding Saddam: The man should of shown his cards when he had a chance. It wouldn't have done much good though. Its something we had to do. His offspring would been twice as bad. Better to nip the problem in the bud.
