o date, over 500 U.S. soldiers have died. Approximately 16,000 Iraqis have been killed since the start of the war, including approximately 10,000 civilians.

I wonder, at what point does a 'just and worthy battle' become a slaughter?

Is a death ratio of 1:32 too low?

no, no, no, you need to get with the republican doublethink:

• We must kill them to liberate them....
• We must free them from their state-controlled media by providing our own state-controlled media...
• We must bring them to democracy by hand-picking their leaders.
• We must respect their eastern culture by supplanting it with western culture....
• We must protect their wealth by using it to defray our costs for invading them.
• We must rebuild their economy by hiring our own people to rebuild their infrastructure with our own corporations and employees, after we've destroyed their infrastructure.
• We must avenge the senseless deaths of their citizens by the hand of Saddam decades later by incurring senseless deaths of their citizens.

please repeat these mantras until they seep into your subconscious and you accept them as reality.

not really understanding your grammatical structure here, but if you're referring to my last post, please feel free to address any of the points you disagree with.

Does this make sense then:

Once more an "if you are not liberal then you are wrong" post...

ok, that helps grammatically, thanks.
But yet, I'm not sure its accurate. My post was pointing out the doublethink mantras of the current administration and their devotees...somewhat tongue in cheek, but like all good humor, with the brutality of truth.

Not sure how that's saying "if you are not liberal then you are wrong". More like "if you are a republican, then you will accept the following self-contradictory statements", or if you don't, keep repeating them until they make more sense to you.

*shrugs*

you can still free to address any of the mantras and contradict them if you feel they are untrue.

I am not sure whether I am a Liberal or not.

What I can see here is that again, people care more for commas than for people handicapped for life because of the greed of people who believe they are not accountable for anything they do. A greed from which a lot of people will profit.

That people can find the opportunity of discussing grammar on the topic of children with a missing limb (for life) because of is kind of... ironic.

Let's see what people in this forum will do on the next terrorist attack if there ever is another again.

We'll send people to war again.
We'll send them for "humane reasons" but put a claim on their riches.
We'll have some guy say "they envy us" for an explanation of that terrorist act.
Millions will gobble that as wisdom.

And comfort leads to indifference.

On a final note, I am not sure conservatives have anything to envy to liberals or vice versa.

When we look back at history, I am convinced there are still lots of skeletons in the closets of pretty much any government...

Edited to decrease the acidic attitude, avoid usless nationalistic ostracism, with my apologies to whoemever I offended

Edit: this post was absolutely extreme in this context and therefore not useful
