So if a nutty Christian pastor praises Eric Rudolph having bombed the olympics, all Christianity is evil?

Wednesday, the sign outside of the Lovingway United Pentecostal Church at Colorado Boulevard and Tennessee Avenue read "Jews Killed The Lord Jesus," a reference to the controversy over the new movie about the death of Jesus Christ.

As fizzle said, there are nutcases and extremists in all groups (just look at MacNN!!). Doesn't mean the majority are crazy. At least this guy apologized after putting up that sign but it still shows where his head is at.

dhinkel,

is there some kind of twisted pleasure you get out of agitating people?

I am inclined to believe Theolein's assessment of you is the correct one.
If this post is in the Lounge forum, it is likely to be my own opinion, and not representative of the position of MacNN.com.

This man shouldn't be an extremist - he's the leader of Australia's muslims. His position isn't analogous to some odd pastor. This is like the Archbishop of Canterbury or the Pope praising pogroms.

What-- Popes like Innocent III or John XXII?

Religion has been, and contiues to be, one of humanity's favorite excuses for its inhumanity. There's an extremist Christian or an extremist Hindu to match every extremist Muslim. The problem we're having as a race is general ignorance and intolerance from ALL sides, it doesn't matter which old book you hold to be the divine supreme "truth." The notion of any old book being "divine, supreme truth" is going to dog us as a civilization for eternity, it appears.

I think its not fun at all, in fact i was trying to keep away from this thread,
flames, flames

If he said that after 9/11 why is the article coming out NOW????

He should be true and moderate. We dont know the whole context/comments and story. Why do they react now only?

et puis le film, dénaturé, utilisé pour manifester du fascisme.
le monde me paraît décidément bien pervers.

Some people have decided to apply litterally the "God made Man in his Image" way too far...

It gives credit only in the imagination of the devouts and those who believe they own the Truth, which is, NO ONE.

Leader according to who? Some people would try to claim that Pat Robertson is the leader of America's Christians. Pat Robertson has said moronic things, like wildfires in Orlando FL that destroyed homes and thousands of acres were caused by Disney's providing benefits to the partners of gay employees. That's just as outlandish and stupid as this Australian muslim. Stop trying to paint the entire canvas with one brush. Anyway, he -can't- respresent "all" muslims in Australia. He may be a high ranking Sunni or Shi'ite, but he can't very well be both.

Edit - and don't forget it was a nightclub full of Australians that were injured and killed in Bali. I'm sure there were muslims among them.
