No matter what our personal beliefs are in this forum we should all still respect each other.

I know I am guilty of being an butthole in here as well.

But just because we don't agree on issues, doesn't mean we should be mean.

For example, the MacNN IRC channel. We talk about everything that gets talked about in here, but civilly.

If it can be done there, it should be able to be done here as well no?

Anyone want to try?

Sometimes it is just too much effort to be nice.

Yeah well maybe, but don't you think we should at least make some effort?

I've got no problem with conflict, but it's the senseless baiting and contrarianism that I can live without.

You got my vote for friendly, but to be blunt, it ain't gonna happen, not with all the little know-it-all-one-liner-hit-and-run artists about. If only they could behave like they were in the presence of their mothers. I'm hoping that brings an image of, my mom wouldn't like me talking like that to someone, instead of, I hated that ..... bla-bla-bla.

BTW: You talk on IRC? You have a lot of free time. Out of work? Retired? If the latter, send money.

Send money anyway.

Wait, was that a one-liner-baiting-thing? Nah, this makes it two.

I never take anything personally on these boards.

One person may attack you with venom on one subject, but the next day you will be agreeing with them on something entirely different.

Everyone has their own opinion. Just follow the rules set forward... don't attack anyone personally. Attack their ideas if you disagree, but never them personally.

You will notice that those who resort to personal attacks never have anything worth reading posted anyhow and are ignored.

Heck I just put that option there to show everyone what a open minded modern person I was. I didn't expect anyone to actually choose it.

So that shows how open minded I am by choosing it?????????? Forget that, I need to change my answer to "It is the way I say it is."

compared to other online political forums of discussion (like yahoo), macnn is pretty sophisticated (most of the time).

someone once pointed out to me concerning message boards that "Lerk has a habit of flipping out on morons"

and, I think that's true. I can put up with it for a while, but it aggregates and eventually I end up saying something. *shrugs* we're all only human.

It would be nice to have a MacNN Utopia, just like it would be nice in the real world. Don't think it will happen though! I do try to get along, but sometimes the sheer hatred and ignorance demonstrated by some people here just can't be ignored.

Interesting though to note the author of this thread. Are we seeing an updated Zimphire 2.1 version with a few bugs fixed?!

A friend of mine reminded me that those people whom are the less flexible are often those who's life was spared a lot of trouble.

Someone said once something like people getting along with others because of their common understanding of life challenges; not because they heard of it, but because they had to walk through it.

It was a Service Pack downloaded during a matinee flogging flick.

Oh, but surely I jest!

I like the idea Zimphire and I'd like this to be a better place too. I'll make an extra effort from now on.

Although I doubt this was deliberate:

I think the irony started with the title of this thread...

Hard to get along when one side wasn't even trying here. When one side doesn't want to get along.

I guess hate is a bigger part of their life than most.

Yes. Why don't you switch off your hate for a while so the rest of us can enjoy ourselves?

Or barring that impossibility, try holding your breath. For a long time. A really long time.

Do you project hate often?

This is the kind of post I am talking about.

Classic.
