New threats made against France. No further details yet.
Why France? I mean, they did everything the terrorists wanted them to do. They didn't side with the US. omg, what happened? the terrorists didn't keep their word. *snif*
Looks like the Spliffmeister was speaking the truth.
It ain't got jack to do with American foreign policy. You are being targeted because you're western.
Now stop being western, dammit - else you'll just further antagonize the oppressed terrorists while they struggle for justice.

wait.
the FRENCH are western....just like ME?
that is unacceptable.
I will not be placed in the same category as a common French citizen.
"Not in my name", I chant to the terrorists.
so as not to be their enemy.
for I am not a westerner.
I revel in the safety it affords me.

The French did everything the terrorists wanted? Oh really!
The terrorists wanted France to side with the US and send their troops to invade Afghanistan? The terrorists wanted France to provide most of the major breakthroughs in the 9/11 investigation? The terrorists wanted France to jail suspected terrorists? The terrorists wanted France to carry out anti-terrorism operations in Afghanistan LAST WEEK?
Islamic terrorists have been threatening France for 30 years. France never once waivered in the struggle against terrorism. Some of you numbskulls continue to confuse the Gulf War with the Struggle against Terrorism. France didn't participate in the killing of 10,000 innocent people in Iraq - a war that had NOTHING to do with terrorism but France has ALWAYS been at the forefront of the struggle against Islamic terrorism.

THANK YOU!
I was hoping somebody would correct me.
So I could suggest:
maybe France needs to re-think their foreign policy.

The letter described France as ""wine, pigs, loose morals and nudity." Sounds like it was written by an American.

But they didn't send troops to Iraq. Everybody KNOWS that Al Queda will only attack you if you sent troops to Iraq. Or Afghanistan.
It MUST BE true -- I heard it on CNN.

Umm... not sure where your coming from, but France was and still is a major playor in the WOT. They just didn't participate in the Iraq campaign.
France did quite a bit of intelegence work, and investigation post 9/11.
Far from "They didn't side with the US."
If anything, Spain ia more neutral party than France.
France also went through quite a bit of social turmoil following the debate of if it should join the US in Iraq. There are quite a few who were afraid Paris was a future target, and should join the US. But France also has many who are threatened by the US and it's terrorism. Then a third party of millions who have some ties to Iraq, either being decendants, or knowing people who live there. Remember France has a large muslim population.

France wasn't interested in helping out in Iraq for monetary reasons.

Nope. But I can't tell you how many times I have heard people FROM the middle east call people names using pig or dog.
Not that me being from the middle east matters.

Correction, France helped Iraq out despite monetary reasons. The US helped Iraq out for monetary reasons.

France did not want the US to invade because Iraq owed them money for oil deals they made.
THAT is why France was against the invasion.
The US helped Iraq out for monetary reasons.
Oh, I am sure it was PART of it.

Maybe the French are being targetted because they've come closer to catching Bin Laden than the Americans?

Bingo, Spliff. If you are not Muslim fundamentalist, and do not favor death over life, you are a prime target for terrorism. NO matter how you responded to American requests for the war on terror.
You cannot appease Al Qaeda and their associate terrorist groups. You must use force to vanquish them or else to force them to unconditional surrender.

It was reported that a French general almost captured Osama Bin Laden in Afghanistan. Yes, the French are still involved over there.
I say the French should have not chased him down using Citroen pursuit vehicles.
That's why they failed.
