Indeed, a sad day. May this innocent's soul rest in peace, wherever that might be.

I just lost the last shed of hope I had left for the middle east.
I just knew they would turn him loose like the Japanese guy.

Another act of violence committed in the name of some Western religion. How sad, ironic, and quite pathetic.

Huh?
Anyway, this was done by insurgents as opposed to terrorists, right? Is there really a difference at this point?

Remember, this is an act rooted in ancient religion and custom. The people in the Middle East don't feel the horror we Westerners do. Just ask the people who think we made a mistake by invading Iraq and removing Hussein. The Iraqi people were much better off under Hussein. They had stability and he even practiced part of their religion. I don't see the problem here.

U.S. Warns Sudan Death Toll Could Reach 300,000 To 1 Million
More than 1 million people in Darfur have been displaced by attacks of government-allied Arab Janjawid militia on black African civilians, and an estimated 10,000 have been killed since fighting began in February 2003._ Some 150,000 Sudanese have fled across the western border to Chad._ The United Nations estimated that 700,000 to 800,000 people in Darfur are expected to run out of what they need to survive within months.
I really wonder who made a point here; the beheaders or human irony...

I'm pretty sure he was referring to the terrorists, not the Korean guy (RIP). At least I hope that's what he meant.

I like how you refer to living under a dictator as being "stable"... like that's a great benefit or something. A nation that does not allow it's population to come and go as they please - where people have to "defect" when they want to leave the place - is bad.
It upsets me whenever I hear someone suggest that people are better off living under a brutal and oppressive dictator.

Many people would have prefered we not remove Hussein. That we were wrong to enforce the Gulf War 1 cease fire aggreement and UN resolutios. I would say the majority in this forum feel that way. You are not alone, though, my post you quoted was tongue in cheek,
and meant to illicit an reponse. Apparently a lot of people here agreed, your the first to respond.
