SACRAMENTO, California (AP) -- Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger wants to repeal a state law that requires animal shelters to hold stray dogs and cats for up to six days before killing them.
Instead, there would be a three-day requirement for strays. Other animals, including birds, hamsters, potbellied pigs, rabbits, snakes and turtles, could be killed immediately.
Fluffy, you're terminated.
The way this bill is worded, if your exotic escapes, nomatter how frantic you look for it if they get it first it's as good as dead within 24 hours.

Oh man, this is getting all sorts of coverage here.
I kind of feel sorry for Arnold on this one. He's in a desperate budget battle trying to cut costs on everything but this is lousy PR. It's a no-win situation that makes him look heartless.
Expect the obligatory outrage from PETA as well.

actually, one of the deleted scenes from T2 was the T-1000 doing exactly that.
but you're right, this is terrible PR for Arnold. i'm sure a fark photoshop contest on this is in the making.
