Ok. So, I am not a vegetarian. Very much not a vegetarian. Peta? Stands for 'People for the Eating of Tasty Animals' as far as I am concerned.

Then, I watch this: http://www.petatv.com/tvpopup/video....o=pilgrims_web

I'll have the tofu burger, thank you.

PETA is a disgusting bunch of fanatical people.

Their scare propaganda and sick ads have the exact opposite effect that they would hope on many people.

I'll eat a steak tonight just in their honor.

Pachead,

Don't get me wrong, I'm still going to eat meat. There is NO justification for what was on that tape though. Are you implying it didn't happen?

No, not at all. I did not even watch that ad that was linked to, as I have vowed never, ever to take anything that PETA says seriously after a few offensive ads which they created a year or two ago. The holocaust one comes to mind.

I am not implying that there is no cruelty to animals, nor do I condone this. I condemn PETA for their fascist, disgusting ways.

Agreed.

PETA has crossed the lines of ethics many times.

Their intentions are good (if you agree with them, and how much is a different story), but their methods are unethical way to often.

That video has nothing to do with being vegetarian or not. Animals that are intended for food can be held appropriate to species. What's on the video is a crime that has nothing to do with eating meat.
Nasrudin sat on a river bank when someone shouted to him from the opposite side: "Hey! how do I get across?" "You are across!" Nasrudin shouted back.

Animals being abused while in captivity. It must be the fault of the Bush Administration. Who ordered them to abuse chickens? We can't have a whitewash where just the lowly chicken-abuser gets punished.

People don't take animal abuse seriously as it is. So by all means let's trivialize the topic further by inserting irrelevant (and lame) political jabs.

I cannot for the life of me understand how a person could get joy out of torturing another living creature. Aside from that, I don't think such perpetrators are too far away from treating humans the same way.
