Ok, not Imperialism... but the hook is all in the headline.
Anyway, I often hear peeps say things like:

Well, there was a time when I thought that too. It seemed easy to just ignore the worlds problems.
Maybe it was after my wife and I had children, but my tolerance for vicious brutality just came to a head.
The fact is that there are some evil brutal bastards in the world and someone needs to smack the whack out of them. It so happens that the US is about the only entity capable to deal with the matter.
Now, I am not suggesting Imperialism, but is there not some moral imperative that if you can stop the slaughter of innocents you should. I am not saying it all be based on religion, ideology or otherwise…but solely on the fact that people are being slaughtered and often because of a religion or ethnicity affiliation.
