"I am coming to Florida," the director of "Fahrenheit 9/11" promised Florida's delegation to the Democratic National Convention in Boston. "Together we will guarantee to every Floridian that their vote will be counted this year."
The Dems really need to get off it.

Not to mention them wanting to get the U.N. involved. These sandbox politics are damaging our integrity more than any "illegitmate" war ever could.

This is great ! Americans have nothing to fear, the proven liar and deceptive filmmaker who profits off of 9-11 is heading down to Florida to monitor the vote ! We can all sleep much safer at night now.
The only question is, who's going to monitor Moore's big fat lying mouth ?

God forbid we should actually hold a legitimate, fair election in which every vote is counted.

Is the US going to allow UN observers this year?

You do realize there are many members of both parties who are concerned about having fair elections? It's not just the Republicans.
A disenfranchised voter is dangerous to BOTH political parties.

Watch how interesting it gets a month from now when Nader still has 4% of the vote.

Moore is so typical of narcissist leftists that take themselves WAAAY too seriously, to the point that he thinks he can appoint himself as any sort of authority over voting in Florida. Even Rush Limbaugh was never this pompous and arrogant.
The only thing Moore needs to monitor is his caloric intake. And obviously he can’t even be trusted to do that.

Florida's election personnel are still as incompetent as they were in 2000. For example, they were too stupid to back up election data from 2002, and recently lost it in a hard disk crash! I welcome any and all supervision of the fools, since those in power don't seem to care.

Yes but the Dems seem to think that they NEED to have the UN come and oversee the Our elections. Mr Moore seems to think he needs to oversee the elections so he can cry foul when it doesn't won't (hopefully) go his way. All everyone seems to hear about are how Democrat voters were so disenfranchised in the last election. The disenfranchisement in the last election seemed to mostly be the Media's fault for calling it too early therefore disenfranchising ALL the voters.

Hardware failueres happen. They should fire the individual or indivuals who didn't back up that Data. Maybe they should also use a Mac for e-voting I read that Wisconsin or someplace used a Mac and it went flawlessly. I'll have to dig up that article.

Again, why not? Most nations invite the UN to monitor their elections, why not the U.S.?

Again why should we? Just because many other nations do it? Why not just have the UN oversee every election in EVERY country.

Why not ? For starters, the USA is not some corrupt, third world slimehole. Second, the UN is not in charge of the USA, nor do they have any say in the USA. The UN are the corrupt crooks themselves, and asking them to monitor any elections in the USA is a waste of time, and an insult to the USA. So, that's why not. It will never happen, as it was only the idea of a few, idiotic democrat politicians to begin with.

Please list examples of nations that have invited the U.N. to monitor their elections. Having an outside party monitor the elections of a soverign nation such as the United States is rediculous and I would question the motivation of those who think otherwise.

Just because you are an open democracy with nothing to hide? Perhaps it would give the US system some credibility again after the last scandal.
And I would definitely support the UN overseeing every election in the world. Perhaps we could even put some pressure on dictatorial regimes by "punishing" nations that don't hold elections?

What scandal are you speaking about? You mean the one where many blacks said they were supposedly turned away and not allowed to vote?

No, the one where a court of justice with judges installed by a former president install the candidate who got fewer votes to become the president. That happening in a "democratic" nation is just considered a joke and a scandal in all other democratic nations. And I don't care if your system allows that. Having UN observers that would say that everything went according to your laws would give your election system some credibility again.

Sure, with the way the votes were chosen to be counted 2000, Bush won-ish. We'll see if he "wins" FL this time around.
Oh, and
Or is it ?

Odd isn't it how the problems seem to happen in counties with local governments run by the Democrats?
You do realize that, right? That elections are run by your local county government? Maybe Floridians should be turning people out in November? If incompetantly run elections are hurting Democrats, and Democrats keep reelecting the same incompetant Democrats who incompetantly run the elections, then you really have only yourselves to blame.

The main electoral reform we need in this country is for the media to not call the election before all the polls have closed. We have timezones.
The rest can be taken care of by voters paying attention. Most people seem to be able to cope with filling out a tax form. I'm sure putting an X beside a name isn't too challenging. And that doesn't mean putting an X besides 8 names so that some political operative can guess what your "intent" was.
