This will probably devolve into pointless flaming, but since we always seem to have some Pro-Muslim/Anti-Muslim foolishness going one here, I figured I would bring it up as maybe a way for everyone to stop taking themselves so seriously and realize that people are people.

Anyway, I was listening to NPR on my way into work today, and they were interviewing the creator of Islamica News about his site. The guy, I forget his name, was saying that he wanted to create satire that poked good natured fun at common problems, with in the faith, while still respecting the religion and the prophet. I've been reading some of the stories, and there is some really funny **** there.

Unfortunately, like in all Faiths, not all faithful will take this as a joke...

He said he does get some hate mail, some from people that don't get what he's doing, and others that don't believe he himself is Muslim. But he said for the most part he has had overwhelming support for the site, both from Muslims and infidels. People seem to enjoy the satire much the way they do for The Onion and similar sites.
