Is that the best you can add? The article is actually pretty provoking regarding American politics. It shows there is more than a right and left answer to the state of things.

Huh?

The views expressed by Lerkfish concerning NeoConservatives are similar to those of Pat Buchanan. I was just putting a little twist on how differences are not necessarily a 'righty' or 'lefty' issue.

Who died and made you mod by the way?

I've known Lerk for an eternity (in internet time). I assure you, whether you like him or not, the man is genuine.

Should it be locked because it's a personal attack? That hardly seems precedented.

Interesting, Buchanan had a pretty big name in the Republican Party, and then he makes a pretty cutting critique. Neoconservativism are pretty unpopular.

That's subjective.

What's objective is that Lerkfish and Buchanan have similar views on NeoCons yet are on opposite ends of the political spectrum.

I could of as easily titled the thread: Is Buchanan really an extreme lefty in disguise? But it would not of been as controversial.

Although I don't know Lerk personally, he's been very consistent in the time I've been here, and one can tell that he puts a lot of thought into what he posts. He also knows how to debate, point by point, as opposed to throwing around three words, and calling that a discussion.

Well you've been here since December 1999 and still live in Columbia, Missouri. You might as well be dead.

Well, with that new title, it would not have been derailed like it has been, and for good reason.

And I agree with the others. I don't always agree with Lerk, but he is genuine, and I believe he is honest as well. Just like others said, he is methodical, structured, and goes straight to the point.

He also recognizes his mistakes, like a few do here, from time to time, and that nmeans he is not stuck on his position to the point of forgetting his manners. He definetily is a gentleman.

That is quite commendable and demands respect.

You are so ... deep. But not for a newbie, come to think of it. Go away. Lerkfish, whatever his faults, is a man. You are -- what are you, anyway?

I like Columbia a lot. I'm sure you like the State Boys Home for the Mildly Retarded. To each his own, "LoganCharles."

Please reply with some childish, angry remark, to confirm how desperate for attention you are. Hurry, your thread is about to be locked. Please try to remember that I accused you of being mentally retarded.

Actually I'm surrounded by six-panel french doors if you wish to know.

I see let's derail the thread in attempt to get it locked.

You guys are sure desperate. I must of struck a nerve.

I didn't think the original post or even thread title was a personal attack. However, it seems like there are a lot of personal attacks in this thread. I read the Drudge link and thought it was ironic that Buchanan has some similar views to Lerkfish's.

Oh, I've been registered here since Jan 2001. Does that make me better or worse than someone who's been less or more?

I'd say the title was a personal attack. It's not in any way related to Lerk. The title was just used to get attention, and be spiteful.

It wasn't even a retaliation in a long thread. It was starting with an attack. A bit low IMHO.

Time to grow up people. It's one thing to debate. It's another thing to target people for attacks in threads.

Thanks a lot, people.

I can't even go out for a night to celebrate a friends' birthday without coming back to something like this.

I really do appreciate it. Really.

Lovely bunch here. No shame at all.
