Are you referring to the Al Jazeera banner in the background there?
signatures are a waste of bandwidth
especially ones with political tripe in them.

What is wrong with the banner? Al Jazeera is a huge news station in the Middle East...

Maybe it really says: Al Jazeera Sucks

Not sure anything is wrong with it, but it seems odd that they would have one considering how critical we (as a nation, not just Bush and Co.) have been of their coverage. Maybe "Sucks" is just off camera.

They have excellent security at the convention. I'm sure they searched the Al Jazeera reporters and staff for bombbelts/explosives etc., so I see no problem in letting them in.

He would appear to be preaching from a church pulpit.

Al Jazeera, interestingly enough, is devoting more time to the convention than the networks in the US - ABC, NBC, CBS. Sure, they are covering it on cable, and showing an hour on some nets per night, but not full coverage.

I was actually referring to the subtle crucifixes in the wood on the front of his podium, and the lectern-ette to his right.

Look at his face. I wouldn't trust him to look after my wallet let alone a nation.

What's interesting about this picture is that ... if you look closely ... he almost looks alive . Sometimes airbrushed imagery is just amazing
