How do you European Union folks feel about the law setup discussed in this NY Times piece?

Does it impact your or you friends' lives? Is it something you'd like to see spread across the EU? I'm interested because there is such a contrast between Western European immigration laws and what the Yanks (US) have as well.

Granted, the Americans don't make it easy for you to bring your foreign spouse over--it can take years and pots of ££££--but this Danish law seems worse.

All-seeing and all-knowing since 2000 B.C.
