Remember the trailer? It was posted here some time ago.
Two films attacking Fahrenheit 9/11 director Michael Moore are set to debut at a US film festival embracing "traditional American values".
Michael Moore Hates America and Michael and Me will be shown at the first American Film Renaissance Festival in Dallas, Texas, from Friday.
The weekend event will screen 21 conservative and patriotic movies.
They reflect "pride, humility and appreciation for our great nation", founder Jim Hubbard said.
'Profound influence'
"For the good or bad, in today's America, the film industry profoundly influences the pace and direction of American cultural life," he said.
"For far too long, the film industry has used its influence to create movies advancing a world view that derides patriotism, faith, and traditional American values."
Mr Hubbard said the inaugural festival would "highlight that America is home, not to a nation of idiots as Michael Moore asserts".
Moore's documentary criticised President Bush's war on terror
Made by director Michael Wilson, Michael Moore Hates America is a documentary response to Fahrenheit 9/11, which criticised President Bush's war on terror.
Mr Wilson describes it as "a film that challenges the shrillness that has engulfed the Big American Conversation from both sides".
Aping the name of Moore's 1989 film Roger and Me, Michael and Me features talk show host Larry Elder who "teaches Mr Moore a thing or two about the second amendment".
The festival also features Beyond the Passion of the Christ: The Impact - a documentary looking at the global response to Mel Gibson's religious blockbuster.
And it includes DC 9/11: A Time of Crisis, starring Timothy Bottoms as President Bush, plus 2001's Second World War drama To End All Wars starring Kiefer Sutherland.

Great; another "you don't agree with us so you hate America" thing.
I doubt Michael Moore hates America. That's not to say there aren't people who do -Bobby Fischer being a prime example, by his own admission- but Moore doesn't. He hates Bush, and it seems to be an intensely personal hatred, but not America itself.
That said, I'd be interested to hear more about this film festival's lineup.

I get that feeling to.
I wonder if it's because of a physicality difference. Moore seems to suffer from a mild depression. His looks, demeanor etc. He also has a problem with tardiness which is the opposite of Bush's punctuality.

Good job Michael Moore. Anytime they spend attacking you they can't be attacking Kerry.

I do think he hates America. I also think he is a miserable lowlife and a treasonous SOB.
His words speak for themselves.
His crap movies have already been debunked countless times, but I'll get a good laugh, if I see any of these new movies coming out.

I don't think he hates America so much as he loves anything that will make him more money, and get him on the front page of magazines. If flapping his pie hole about how America stinks, then so be it.
He is your typical media whore.

He certainly made a bunch of money off of thousands of dead Americans. Maybe we'll have soon new attack soon, with thousands dead. I can just see the dollar signs $$$$$$ - - - - flashing in his eyes, at the thought of this.

Well, he's American, so why can't he be Pro-America if he is anti-Bush, anti-conservative, etc? Is it so hard to accept, that he just might favor `his' America (the way he would like it to be), just because it doesn't agree with the way you want America to be?

He has always been quoted as syaing that his movies aren't political, they are opinion movies. I doubt he hates America too, I think he just sees room for improvement. Also, I don't think he will be shocked by these movies and I don't think he will be beat at his own game. He expects the competition and he likes getting people passionate.

I think calling anyone an opportunist over the events of 9/11 is a disgusting comment. i live in the Midwest, about 1100 miles away from new York and your comment offended me.

Yeah, his movie isn't political at all, that's why he is trying to use it to influence the election. Not political at all, nope.

"These bastards who run our country are a bunch of conniving, thieving, smug pricks who need to be brought down and removed and replaced with a whole new system that we control."
He's also scared of white people.
White people scare the crap out of me. … I have never been attacked by a black person, never been evicted by a black person, never had my security deposit ripped off by a black landlord, never had a black landlord … never been pulled over by a black cop, never been sold a lemon by a black car salesman, never seen a black car salesman, never had a black person deny me a bank loan, never had a black person bury my movie, and I've never heard a black person say: We're going to eliminate ten thousand jobs here - have a nice day !
He also thinks Americans are dumb people. Screw that miserable big fat liar.

Not if I believe it to be true.
Anyhow, where does it matter where you're from ? I'm a real New Yorker, Michael "liar" Moore is not. So, if geographic location matters, then MM has less credibility than me.

This thread was about Michael Moore and his lying movie. I have not once mentioned the word "Bush" or "Dubya" in this thread.
You are obviously a Michael Moore fan, seeing that you like to make things up, and claim things that are not true.

Would you like to share your evidence of how his movie (or parts of his movie) was/is a lie? There were pages and pages of "refutes" that I didn't have time to read through when F9/11 came out, I skim read a few... Care to summarize what really stuck out in your mind?

Perhaps, perhaps not, but it's the truth. This is not to say that Moore is the only such opportunist; there are plenty of others on the left, and the Bush Administration is full of them on the right.
To try and capitalize on 9/11 for personal gain is an ugly thing. But make no mistake: people do it. Moore is one of them, but he is only one of them.

Well, but does that make Michael Moore someone who is not `Pro-America?' As you pointed out, by the same argument, the Bush warriors also wouldn't be `Pro-America' Americans.

The whole movie was a hoax.
Additionally when he was saying things like, "Bush just sat there in the kids classroom although he knew that 9/11 happened..." What the hell was he going to do?! "Kids, we've been attacked! I need to get out of here!" I mean, what? Michael Moore is a lame excuse for a human being.

No, sorry, I don't really care to discuss the liar anymore. It has been discussed to death on this forum, and virtually everywhere else on the net. Just search his name on this forum, and you'll find plenty of threads.
His movie has made no impact, and I have no desire to waste my time in refuting what he has lied about for the millionth time.
People can believe what they want, I don't care, because his fraud won't change anything.

It's a shame that people can take one point in a 1.5 hour movie they don't agree with, and discount the *entire* thing based on this one thing.
My point is that Moore does make some good points worth thought and the label of "factual" or at least "well grounded". It is human nature to tune out what we don't want to believe in, but it is also hard to have a debate with people who have closed their minds enough that they can do this without even catching themselves.

Talk about moore's movie all you want, nobody is stopping you.
I have already discussed it plenty in other threads, regarding all the lies/deceits etc.
I'm not going to waste my time discussing that which I have already discussed before. Why type the same thing twice ? I've already typed it before in other threads.
Moore's lying movie is history as far as I'm concerned. It will still be studied in the future by historians, much in the same way that people study/read mein kampf and the nazi propaganda movies.

If you make an assertion that somebody is a liar, prepare to defend it. Otherwise, don't waste our time with little kiddie "hit and run" arguments.

This is a nice evolution of an old familiar conversation from grade school:
"I don't want to talk about how much you stink, because EVERYBODY knows that you stink!!"
"stink! stink! stink! stink! stink!!! Heheheh!!"

You are happy to have your own assertions defended by what others wrote?
This is another evolution from a school yard conversation:
"You like to suck your big toe! You like to suck your big toe!!"
"How do YOU know?"
"Everybody knows it, I read it in a book!!"
Well, maybe not quite.. but I'm amusing myself with my schoolyard conversation analogies.

Nope, I have participated in those threads.I am not going to waste my time typing the same thing which I have written before twice.
Anybody still attempting to discuss the "facts" (LIES) in Moore's movie hasn't been following too closely.
Go read those old threads, not my problem that you weren't around at the time.

Like I said to the other dude - Go use the SEARCH or something. I'm not going to waste my time.
Thanks for coming into the thread and informing us all that you won't be wasting your time with the thread. We were all wondering about whether you would partake in this thread, we were hoping for your contributions.
I'm wasting my time with all my responses, but I'm just wondering how long this will go on before you start to defend your assertions or drop them altogether (or come out and confess that you aren't an adult who is capable of doing so)
