No more like people's understand of what Jesus said is being twisted in this parody. Not surprising.

Giving to the poor is a good thing when done freely.

When MADE to do it by a gov, it looses all it's free will goodness.

The turn the other cheek is taken out of context as well.

Regarding war...

"Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword." - Jesus, Mark 10:34

Regarding self-defense...

"Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one." Jesus, Luke 22:36

Jesus regarding his own politics...

"Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence." Jesus, John 18:36

Obviously he didn't say this. Some non-Jewish writer did. Which begs many questions.

Jesus is clearly too full of nuance and too much of a flip-flopper to be trusted with leadership. And what about his record? It's all about a few weeks around passover. How come he never talks about the 30-odd years before that?

I've got the NAB right here, and that quote's defiantly not from Mark chapter 10, verse 34.

Mark 10:34 is part of Jesus' third prediction of the Passion. Are you sure that's the right book/chapter/verse?

NAB's Mark 10:34 - "who will mock him, spit upon him, scourge him, and put him to death, but after three days he will rise.'"

KJV's Mark 10:34 - "And they shall mock him, and shall scourge him, and shall spit upon him, and shall kill him: and the third day he shall rise again."

Jesus as a candidate?

His military record is murky at best.

Bad for business too, i.e.: the public rambling at the Temple.

He also created public manifestations that were unruly.

He is a liberal...

True. He took everything Jesus 'apparently' said, twisted it around, and regurgitated as the New World Order.

Hell yeah! Let's spend a few hundred billion dollars and free a thankless people in Iraq and make sure that they have access to all that many Americans wish they had and it's all jammy with cool whip on top.

Hell, Iraq never even asked, They were forced to accept American generosity.

There are actually areas in the U.S. that are as bad as any 3rd world country that would just love electricity and indoor plumbing.

Let the U.S. go all to sh*t but fix those dang countries that hate the ground you walk on.

That's like fixing some guys toilet across the city that hates your guts. Meanwhile your own septic tank is overflowing and the sh*t stinks and is fouling your neighborhood. And of course the first chance this guy gets he gonna beat up your son anyways.

Damn laughable if it wasn't so fu*king stupid and so fu*king American.

I see we have armchair Iraqis in here as well. Invictus here is a newsflash for your hateful self. Not all Iraqi's hate America and what we are doing for them. As a matter of fact, a good bit of them ARE THANKFUL for it all.

And those people that are, are what makes this all worth it.

Let me ask you one thing, are you happy about Iraq being free of Saddam, or are you just pleased to see the US flex its muscles on a weaker, Muslim country? Do you personally care about Iraqis, and their future? If you're supportive of your nation's actions, and you seem to be very vocal about it, then what have you done in your city to promote Iraqi-US relations?

Also, while there are some that do support that US in Iraq, many, probably most (from my experience) do not support the overall US plan there. Why not pop over and find out, rather than watching the Whitehouse press briefings, and FOX Propoganda News.

Here's a snippet of news for you from yesterday. Some Iraqis destroyed a US military vehicle, then later on people had gathered round to see it, they then started cheering at its destruction. The US airforce flew down and bombed the whole scene, killing some 24 innocent civilians.

So yeah, Iraqis really love to see the US there.

That was almost not worth replying to zen. Iraq wasn't ran as a Muslim country for one. For two of course it has to do with freeing the people with me. It ALWAYS HAS.

Do you personally care about Iraqis, and their future? If you're supportive of your nation's actions, and you seem to be very vocal about it, then what have you done in your city to promote Iraqi-US relations?

In my city? There are very little things I can do over here zen. Do you even know how things work?

WOW and the assuming jerk in you comes out. I get my information from all places. This coming from a guy that posts threads with aljazeera links and expects us to take it as the truth. Alhazeera is 10x worse than any Fox publication.

So you approve of looking at things one sided, making knee-jerk reactionary comments afterward?

I see.

Actually zen there are THOUSANDS of people that are not Iraqi in Iraq right now along with people that are Iraqi that are causing problems.

That doesn't distract from the millions that DO want us to help.

But lets not stop you from trying to paint a different picture to serve your one-sided agenda.

Sorry, it might work other places but the buck stops here. Your spins don't work.

Heck your sig SCREAMS "I am a extreme leftist that likes to make bizarro comparisons"

Yeah, Paul was pretty much the originator of all the worst parts of Christianity. And yet, he was the guy who hadn't actually been with Jesus... hmmm.

It's one of the tragedies of world history, in my opinion, that Paul prevailed in the political battle with Jesus' brother James.

Mithras one doesn't have to BE with Jesus in the physical form to know him.

And tell me. What are the "worst parts of Christianity" ?

Well the question wasn't just about a Muslim country, but any country invaded by the US. Again, what's your angle on this, is it really about freeing people, or just you gloating at the fqact the US is the mightier nation. Reason I ask is because of your liberal use of such nationalistic, xenophobic remarks in here. If you poke your head up in here, then don;t be shocked if you're called upon to answer.

In my city? There are very little things I can do over here zen. Do you even know how things work?
Rubbish. There's plenty one can do in most cities around the world. The reason I ask is because of your very vocal opinions on the Iraqi issue, and your supposition that they are pretty much behind you. So, if you're so keen on helpng them, what do you do to foster kinship, or friendship in your city. Perfectly simple question.

WOW and the assuming jerk in you comes out. I get my information from all places. This coming from a guy that posts threads with aljazeera links and expects us to take it as the truth. Alhazeera is 10x worse than any Fox publication.
I'm a jerk? You child, get a grip, or grow some brains. Just because I post an Al-Jazeera link does not mean I don't think they give a skewed view too. If you want to discuss FOX news and the like, then let's do it. I've know too much about FOX to ever believe they are honest journalists presenting fair and balanced news. So the stereotype of the ignorant American assuming that the US is loved in Iraq is what you come across as, hence the FOX news mention.

Snipped ad hominem crap

You prove yourself too easy a target, and the remarks about my character tells me nicely what kind of person you are, and dealing with. Nice way of trying to deride me by personal comments.

Now run along and play with your flags, kid.

Do you personally care about Iraqis, and their future? If you're supportive of your nation's actions, and you seem to be very vocal about it, then what have you done in your city to promote Iraqi-US relations?
I think many misguided Americans, because they think the U.S. is omnipotent don't like to see their country given short shrift by the U.N. or smaller pissy assed countries and need to blow off some steam by slapping some small not well liked country upside the face and a swift kick in the balls.

I mean if you complain about that your a commie or a terrorist or not supporting the men and women of the military.

I think it's a penis thing.
