Morons. Just what did they expect to happen after a U.S. military vehicle was attacked?

You're suggesting that:
1) people should know that when you gather around a burning military vehicle in a city then you stand to be killed by a missile fired at the vehicle by the same military that the vehicle belongs to; and
2) people filming a burning military vehicle in a city from the other side of a double lane street should expect to be killed by missiles fired by the same military that the vehicle belong to.
Personally, I don't think either of those are reasonable conclusions to draw. A burning vehicle is dangerous because it is hot and might explode. That is a danger that people take into account. It is not reasonable to expect to be killed by a missile or helicopter machine gun fire just because you were hanging around a burning Bradley or filming it for a news channel!
I don't know wtf these idiots were thinking firing missiles and aircraft machine guns into an urban area. I particularly don't know why they did it when they knew that there were civilians in the area. Perhaps they were thinking they'd make some more insurgents, create some more terrorists! Irrespective of what they were thinking (if they were thinking), they have committed war crimes. Let's hope the US Army punishes them appropriately.

Common sense 101: Don't go dancing around and cheering like a bunch of idiots around burned out US military vehicles.
As the Americans withdrew, jubilant fighters and young boys swarmed around the burning vehicle, dancing and cheering. Several young men placed a black banner of al-Qaida-backed Tawhid and Jihad, led by terror mastermind Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, in the barrel of the Bradley's main gun.

It was only a matter of time before the Iraqi terrorists killed those Iraqis. Just look at the bodycount of more Iraqis who were just trying to get jobs.
Ask yourselves again who should be exterminated. Iraqi and foreign terrorists get first place on my list.

How does that relate to the topic of this thread? I don't see any terrorists in this case.
A person who attacks a military vehicle belonging to a country that illegally invaded Iraq and continues to occupy it, would in most cases not be a terrorist. Besides which, it seems pretty clear that the people jumping around on the Bradley were neither the ones who took it out nor were they terrorists. At least one of the people killed was a journalist. There is no evidence that a single terrorist was involved in this incident.
A US military target was attacked and the US responded by killing civilians.

The fighters around the vehicle, and the Al-Qaeda supporters.
I mean, how smart are these people, who are cheering on some foreigner (a Jordanian), who's only purpose in Iraq is to cause havoc, and basically kill civilian Iraqis.
That's who to blame !

The fighters around the vehicle? It was blown up by a suicide bomber! I didn't see any fighters in any of the pictures or the video. Did you? Suicide bombers have a habit of disappearing when their work is done. But let's assume they were there, why would they be terrorists? How does their "only purpose in Iraq", namely to "kill civilian Iraqis" manifest itself? I mean if they'd wanted to do that, surely the logical thing to do would have been to open fire on the innocent Iraqis in the street. Looks to me like they targetted a MILITARY vehicle and not civilians. And if this group was hanging around afterwards, I assume they were identifiable making them regular combatants not terrorists.
None of which explains how a journalist on the opposite side of the road to the Bradley was killed and his colleagues fired on in numerous runs when they were in a position of cover a good distance away from the Bradley.
I think you're kidding yourself. You want to believe that the attacks against the US are by Al Qaeda supporting terrorists when the truth is that there is a groundswell of local resistance to the US occupation. 95% of the people the US arrests for insurgency are Iraqi. And every time the US commits this type of barbery it creates a few more. Those are the facts.

I wasn't aware the the U.S. military's official policy was shooting unarmed civilians. I'm sure if a memo had been issued the entire incident would have been avoided.
It's all about having control during a fire-fight, (when NOT to pull the trigger.) if the enemey doesn't show it, we must.

The people dancing around the vehicle hung an Al-Qaeda flag on it. I wonder why ?

And for waving that flag, they deserved to be shot, of course.
I'll remember that the next time I see a pro-settlement Israeli demonstration, or a pro-Irish Republican demonstration. Or a demonstration by the KKK. Or a demonstration by extremist anti-abortion groups. Or by extremist anti-Castro Floridians. "Call in the helicopters and shoot these suckers! And any television crews standing nearby!"

It is a shame you can't tell the difference. Would you prance around in Iraq with an Al Quaida flag? A sworn enemy, by their own admission, to the United States and a flag that represents a desire to kill not only American soldiers...but innocent civilians.
As for me, I am glad to see that we are stepping it up a notch. And this isn't a for us or against us thing...it is simply a walk like a duck, act like a duck, talk like a duck --- get killed like a duck thing. It is not our fault that certain Iraqi's are stupid enough to imitate a duck when a gun is pointed at them.
Are you a duck?

Al Qaeda has a flag? I've heard of the martyr's flag but never of an Al Qaeda flag. You sure you read the NYT article properly? As someone else noted, the presence of the martyr's flag wouldn't justify the US Army action even if it explained it.

According to Al Jazeera, the attack on Haifa street lasted an hour and the whole area was under attack for three hours following the massacre on Haifa street.

The the clear presence of Al Qaeda insignia, heavily armed combatants and valuable pieces of salveagable military kit.
Oh, and the Al Arabiya journalist is the 7th killed by the US Army in Iraq so far.

That's funny...in this thread you call Vietnam veterans cowards if they shoot the enemy in the back if they are running away hauling on a grenade launcher. You even make a quote about civilized warfare...
your quote...
"Rules of civilized warfare and common human decency dictates that you don't shoot people in the back. You use non-lethal force. If the enemy is facing you in a threatening manner then you have the right to use lethal force."

So I deduce that (in your mind) if it was Kerry in that helicopter he'd be a cowered...If it was Bush he'd be a hero.
I also deduce you are one mixed up individual, confused as all get out. Another case could be made that lil'babykitten is correct in her thoughts of you.
Another of your quotes from the same thread...
"Bush didn't shoot fleeing people in the back. That's a clear violation of ROE. An enemy combatant who is merely carring a weapon isn't justification for use of deadly force unless the combatant is engaging in a hostile action to use said weapon upon the soldier in question. Escaping combatants aren't supposed to be shot. In upholding the office of a U.S. military officer said officer is supposed to do his best to minimalize human casualties and suffering, even those of the enemy.
If Kerry wins in November we might just have the first war criminal elected to office in our history."
You don't give a crap about the suffering of anyone. You flip flop from thread to thread to suit some mixed up junk in your head.

I didn't really care about that. I did care about him trying to make Monica out to be a liar though.
If he would have just owned up to it from the start, he wouldn't have really gotten into any heat. Heck, he would have actually been looked up to I am sure.

Actually, it appears you have a hard time understanding sarcasm. Hence the rolleyes.
I am appalled at the deaths of these people and hope the people responsible will be punished.
I do wonder, however, would you support punishing Kerry for his crimes? After all, the situation was no different. We invaded and were not welcome in Vietnam. Do you support trying Kerry for his crimes? Or is it only a crime when it happens in Iraq?

Now the elusive flag has become a banner! You still haven't shown my one image of the flag hanging on the Bradley and you still haven't shown us that Al Qaeda even has a flag. Besides, how come the helicopter pilots can identify a flag hanging on a burning vehicle and it upsets them, but they can''t see a journalist filming an insert or a 12 year old, unarmed kid standing by?

Haven't you heard about the new "supercool terrorist-o-meter software"(FOX) they now have in those helicopters?
You get reward points...
- 500pts for vehicles
- 100pts for terrorists
- 20pts for future terrorists (kids)
- -5pts for regular civilians and journalists
...and every helicopter team that returns with more than 5000pts gets an extra day of vacation!
They either didn't have enough pts yet or just had some quarters left for the game...
