Why can't we stick to topics that actually MEAN something around here? Take a look at some of the types of threads being posted these days:

Elway, Malone, Nicklaus, several other Top Athletes Endorse Bush

Why the liberals can't stand American unity

Kerry Goin' Hunting - Not just for votes

Terrorist Endorses Kerry

bushwhacked

John Kerry has a secret relationship with Beijing??!!

Teresa Doubts Laura Has Held 'real Job'

Object Under Bush's Jacket Identified

How is my hair?

Votes for Pill Boxes

Bush Endorsed By... Iran?

124 registrations falsified, allegedly for crack cocaine

Democratic Group gives out Crack Cocaine to encourage voter registration...

Kerry crosses two police picket lines

Communists For Kerry?

Mainly ad hominem attacks and flame-bait. What happened to the actually POLICY discussion around here? What happened to the why Bush or Kerry will a better President discussions?

Are the stump speeches and the campaign ads helping? Are the media helping?

I think the discussion here is reflective of the general state of the campaign. Clean up the campaigns and the discussion will reflect that.

There are no undecideds in here, and we all know who we're going to vote for. Also, because we've reached a certain saturation point and we don't care anymore... most just want to blindly sling mud and make fun of the stupidity of it all.

Frankly, these are some pretty damn stupid posts (well, most of them). I mean, do we really need a separate thread for every article that comes out of Drudge's site?

I admit to a bit of this when I posted the thread about those women who wore a civil liberties t-shirt to a Bush rally. But that did highlight one of my concerns about the Bush campaign, if not necessarily a policy sisue. I agree with you overall and it's why I rarely post my own therads here -- whenever I do try to post something asking about policy it ends up getting derailed.

You could also ask if we need a new thread every time the DNC sends a broadcast email. I get them too, and it's eery how often they show up here in fact or in spirit. I'd just like for folks to acknowledge it when they start the thread, with something like "The DNC told me to post..." just so we'll know without having to check, and so we can automatically ignore the rhetoric.

Maybe we should just ask for a couple of sticky threads where we could post all of this crap, one for each side?

The "stupid threads" are simply a microcosm of the Bush campaign's current modus operandi as we draw closer to the deposition of the Clown-in-Chief on November 2nd.

(Or 3rd, 4th, 15th, whatever it takes.)

It's desperation time in BushLand, maybe try to have a bit 'o compassion for them. Defending someone who can barely speak in complete sentences is Hard Work.

"'Jelly Hat' sounds silly," I told Prince. "How about something poetic, like 'Raspberry Beret.'"

With those sentiments I can see why you might be against GWB.

Be careful there mrjinglesusa, you -- and those who have fallen into lock-step behind you in this thread -- are only a quick step away from echoing the positions of evil world leaders or terrorists who have also advocated limiting the choices of free expression.

We have a broad spectrum of topics and those which stick around are the ones proven to appeal to the tastes of the community.

The irrelevent threads die of malnutrition.

Start a thread which is provocative and 'means something' and let it stand there as testament to your intelligence, eloquence and passion.

If it becomes popular, great. If not...oh well...

May I be the first to point out your participation in more than half of that person's "out of hand" thread topics?

In other words, the threads posted by you, which tend to grow in length as people debunk your fringe views, are okay, but the rest aren't.

Please get over yourself.

FUZZY ALERT!

Failure to read thoroughly
Inability to interpret accurately

I never said the other threads weren't 'okay.'

KarlG, I think you suffer from genus envy.

Well, FIRST you check their citizenship papers.

THEN, you submit all posts to a homeland security censorship board for review.

THIRDLY, the committee for Fuzzy Brained Liberalism has to give it's approval.

Once that process has been completed, you're home free.
