A brand new Usama Bin Laden tape on Al Jazeera right now. Hopefully they'll get a translation up soon.

convenient timing....I guess Bush thinks this will get him out of a tough jam...

but logically, if its Osama, well, if he makes a threat, it shows america is not safer under Bush.
If he's alive at all, it means Bush gave up on the search for him, and was incapable of stopping him.
If he threatens on election day, he's helping bush to suppress turnout, so that makes him a partner in Bush's campaign.

He said that he told Muhammad Atta to get the operation over with in 10minutes before anyone knew anything, but Bush instead of acting, sat listening to a child reading a book thus giving them a further 90mins to carry out the attack.

He also said that the safety of the American people depends not on Bush or his challenger John Kerry but on US policy.

Anything that has to do with war/terrorism is good for Bush. He's stronger than Kerry in any issue that has to do with terrorism. All the polls/surveys show this.

People do not trust Kerry as much as Bush, when it comes to the WOT.

Kerry will say anything, if it helps him politically.

If 51% of Americans all of a sudden want to grant bin (dirty, cavedwelling, goat molester) laden amnesty, then that will probably be Kerry's position also. The man has no spine, he has no convictions, I don't trust him with a baseball score (which he got wrong, twice), let alone to lead the war.

this is good for bush: scares people into voting for him

this is bad for Bush: There he is, Osama, 3 years after 9-11 alive and looking fit.

you're flat wrong, or deluded.
Bush did not protect us from 9/11. Bush has accelerated anti-US sentiment in the Muslim world, increasing the numbers of people and giving them bigger axes to grind. Bush has made us less safe, the world less stable, and our futures uncertain.

not sure that "leading us into war" is a good thing, if the war is bad for all involved. You repubs are bloodthirsty warmongers, as far as I can tell.

Yeah it was a weird tape, because he was supposedly addressing the American people. I half expect him to show up on Good Morning America next.

Well, the world is big. Many caves for lowlifes to hide in.

It's a war, he'll be caught/killed eventually. Hitler didn't commit suicide (like a pathetic weakling) until the end of WWII. This war is in the beginning fase still.

And screw muslim sentiments. The majority of those people don't believe arabs even had anything to do with 9-11, so screw them. They'll regret their stupidity eventually.

Of all people I hate to agree with, I guess I have to agree with ya there lerk. The timing of this tape is very odd. Osama most surely knows that he is helping Bush by making an appearance. Very odd.

Perhaps he just wants to promote furhter division and strife?

Bin Laden apparently tried to embarass Bush by the reference to the pet goat children's story thing, but I'd think something like that would backfire.

It will probably just rile up anyone who is tending towards Bush or rile up the undecideds.

However clever OBL's remarks were, you guys (you who are joking about the OBL comments) do see the inappropriateness of quoting and laughing with the man responsible for killing thousands of innocent people on 9/11, don't you?

Nobody gives a crap about Sweden. Sweden is insignificant in the big scheme of things, and I bet osama didn't mention the countries that are next to Sweden, which are Norway and Denmark, both of which have been declared war upon by Al-Qaeda.

And I wouldn't be surprised if Al-Jazeera cameramen film these osama tapes. Somebody should stake out Al-Jazeera and aprehend the courier who delivers these tapes.

Bin Laden also takes full credit for the attacks, so no more morons need to doubt this fact now, and bring up any braindead, liberal conspiracy theories.

Or in Madrid, or in Taba...

You know, he sent a tape because he couldn't send a bomb. No bomb, we must be doing something right.
If this post is in the Lounge forum, it is likely to be my own opinion, and not representative of the position of MacNN.com.

That is very true. If they could've bombed us ala Madrid, they would've. So they send a lame videotape instead.

And hey, speaking about comedy, how about that Georgie Bush joking at the press club dinner with the slide show about looking for WMD in the oval office as US servicemen were being killed in Iraq because of his WMD ********?

How's that for inappropriateness? Does that work for you?

1) I said joking about OBL's comments was inappropriate.
2) You insinuated that they were not inappropriate, b/c something GWB said or did was inappropriate.
3) Hence the illustration of the kitten

Perhaps that was too difficult, I'll put it another way. If GWB says or does something inappropriate, does that make it ok for you to say/do something inappropriate?
