Got this from CNN

"If the U.S. promises coexistence and non-interference in North Korea's domestic affairs, and they can guarantee concrete results from the negotiations, then we are ready to participate in any type of talks, including the six-party talks," Han said in a phone interview with the paper.

"We have backed ourselves against the water with this statement. But if the U.S. takes back its hostile policies, then we can give up our anti-American stance and we can become friends. And then why would we need nuclear weapons?"

The United States had no immediate response.

So basically North Korea spells out out clear. They fear the US and want Nucs for defence. If the US would back off, stay out of there internal affairs this would allow the option of better relations. With good relations with the US they wouldnt need Nucs for defence. So the question is what with American Polititions do next. Continue to be hard asses with North Korea or begin a path that could lead to better relations. I already know the answer to this which is why I think I might save up for a bomb shelter soon.

Bush will make a lot of nasty comments about the North Korean government, but he will never invade them like he did Iraq.

Why not? Simple.
They don't have any oil.
