Who should win the next Nobel Peace Prize?

Many sources are saying that there is only one man who has actually changed the world for the better and made it more peaceful, and that man is George W. Bush!

Submit your choice in the poll, but if you have another choice of the 199 nominees, then please do list it and give reasons as to why.

When I glanced at the options, saw John Paul II at the top of the list, and George Bush's name with 100% of the votes, I instantly thought the poll was about something else. You know what I mean... but its taboo so I won't say it!

I voted for the ICRC for the work they have done all over the world but especially for the work they have done this year in SE Asia after the tsunamis.

But my guess is that the Pope will win. IMHO he is truly a man of peace. While he does push the whole Catholic dogma thing pretty hard he has ALWAYS been a champion of the needy, the poor, and the forgotten all over the world.
One should never stop striving for clarity of thought and precision of expression.
I would prefer my humanity sullied with the tarnish of science rather than the gloss of religion.

That's why the Vatican has a gazillion dollar art collection. Hank Williams, Jr., said it best many years ago, in one of his songs: "They want you to send your money to the Lord, but they give you their address."

Back on topic; giving Troublya a Nobel Prize for Peace is akin to giving a venomous Cobra a designation as Best Family Pet.
Why is there always money for war, but none for education?

Bono is trendy. Could be him.

Red Cross certainly deserves something.

Bush? Nope.

Strange things have been happening lately: sequels are turning out to be better than the originals (Spider Man, X-Men, Harry Potter 3), Apple released a headless low cost Mac, so who knows, maybe the world has been turned upside down. Maybe Bush will win the award! And maybe they will find weapons of mass destruction en Irak.

It would be fun to watch everyone's head explode should Bush win. Frankly, though, I'm not sure why any of these people ought to win.

Can organizations be awarded the Nobel Prizes, actually?
You are in Soviet Russia. It is dark. Grue is likely to be eaten by YOU!
