Today is St-Patrick's.
This is one celebration greatly appreciated in Canada. But in Montreal as well as other cities in this province, it is a day of unification between the famous "2 solitudes" (English and French) which, through common roots of past oppression as well as Catholic practices, are managing their differences. Somehow, politics turns nicer today in Canada today.
The theme this year is "Cead Mile Failte" (One hundred thousand welcomes). This celebration is said to be the oldest uninterrupted public manifestation in North America (today is the 181th). It starts at 12h30.
Have a great St-Patrick's everyone!

The manifestation in Montreal was planned for today yes; this has been so for a long time already. Always on the Sunday before the celebration.. And it seemed to have been a great success, as always. It is very popular here.
There was even the 63th NY Infantry Regimen doing some noise with what appeared to be guns from the time of the Seccession war. (Blue coats and all).
Some firemen from Platsburgh were there as well.

Sure, Ireland seems like something worth celebrating until your country is attacked by Irish terrorist groups. Car bombs, bank heists, etc, are what Ireland is known for by its neighbouring countries who have to put up with it.
